Tedesco

Speaking of Ferguson, what's his current status? Guy is a f**kwit but has potential to be the next GI.

Simona
Richards
Ferguson
Lawrence
Nofoluma

:-k

At the c**ks as a junior development officer isn't he?

It'd be nice to swipe a quality player like him from those bastards, doubt it would happen though.

Swap Lawrence with Nofo, and put Koroibete on the wing.

We've had a ball playing five-eighth at fullback and it was an abject failure.

If we had a fullback who ran the ball back hard and had an inane ability to sniff out a try, then that's 95% of what Tedesco does anyway.

Simona fits that bill for mine. Slater had a poor passing game when he started as well, but he picked it up in his his first full season at fullback. I've no doubt Simona could do the same.

When Tedesco received his first offer from the Tigers a few months ago, something did not add up: his 2015 salary was less than his current contract value.

The Tigers hastily reconfigured the numbers, but Tedesco’s agent, Sam Ayoub, felt they still weren’t comparable for a player who was leading the Dally M votes at the time and had scored a try in each of his first four appearances.

You have a very short window to play football and if your lucky enough to be an elite player you should go where ever the most money is so you can set your family up. He doesnt owe the Tigers anything and im a big fan. They brought him through the ranks but thats it really. Canberra deserve a good guy like him, so many of them have been lost to other clubs for acting like morons - maybe now they can catch a break

Nobody knows his circumstances, he might be supporting someone financially

Anyone who says they wouldnt go for more money is either a liar or stupid

You're right and that's fine but just say nothing. Don't say it's not about the money. It's like kicking us while were down. It's disrespectful in my opinion.

Totally agree...it's a naive, stupid statement that leaves him open to questions about why then he is leaving if it's not the $$$$.I doubt Ted meant to offend anybody at the WT, but sometimes in life you're best to just tell the truth if you are going to comment on a matter rather than BS when placed in difficult situation.eg.'The money was too good to refuse'...most reasonable people would then understand and accept his decision.

Agreed and considering the next thing that came out of his mouth was "I seen a great opportunity for myself at Canberra" C'MON !!! The opportunity he will get down there isn't even close to the one he was going to get at the Tigers.

so you would turn down $240k to not be a traitor? I'm calling bs here. This is all about business so cut out the emotional rubbish.

Without a problem. He signs with us for 4 years and gets the same as 3 years at Canberra. I definitely would have stayed.

I'm surprised at how you guys seem to think its okay but that is your decision. I have no respect for him now.

He is in the Ben Teo mould for mine and possibly worse. We have been paying him plenty and he has been injured a lot.

Straight to prop in State cup for mine.

I'm with TigerO5 on this one. I don't care how bitter it sounds. I hate Tedesco. This whole thing has left a bitter taste in the mouth that will take a long time to get rid of.

Once again I don't care how it sounds, but I hope his career continues to be punctuated by injury (not career ending) and he never fulfills his potential after leaving the Tigers. At least we are then justfied by letting him leave and it was a good business decision. He has left for business reasons, so why can't I be motivated by the same thing?

earning the same money in 4 years at WT is not the same as earning the same money in 3 years at Canberra.

No one is saying it's okay, but most a rational people and can move on from these things. If he wants to chase money, then he's free to do so, and it hasn't cost us anything. If we went and paid whatever a player wanted to keep them here, then we would've paid 900k and kept Benji here.

Not seeing many people this year demanding we should have kept him.

It's business.

If Wests Tigers had offered for 4 years what he will get for 3 years at Canberra he would have stayed. He would have stayed for even less than that. No doubt about it.

Mayer is the King of BS..he loves playing games with people...and making new friends on social media because the real people know what his like. Having worked with him at Canterbury, believe me I know exactly what he is like.

It's in the paper today Mayer started from a base less then what Tedesco is getting paid now. How would you feel if you got offered less next year to do what you already do now. Canberra offered 3 times more than the Wests Tigers initial offer.

His family is very well off...So when he says it's not about the money...it isn't... its about how much Wests Tigers wanted to keep him. Offering someone less than what he already earns doesn't sound like you really want to keep the guy..does it ?

This hate towards Tedesco should be directed towards Mayer. His little mate Benny and his nephew Moses were given a healthy contract...Why wasn't Tedesco ?

Seriously if the club doesn't want you and another club is willing to pay 3 times what you are offered ..do you have a choice ?

Haha, f**k off you would... If you were offered 50% more to do your job by a competitor to your company you'd go in a heartbeat. Anyone who says otherwise is just taking the piss.

Hit the nail on the head----If mayer had offered a a decent contract first up he would have been signed sealed and delivered months ago and probably for less than he rejected from us.

Mayer rolled the dice and lost big time and it was only that Easts and the Dogs started showing some interest that they started to seriously look at his contract and than of course the Raiders came along and it was all over red rover.

This was a crazy call and we will regret it

So you expect him to take a 33% pay cut to stay at the Tigers instead of going to the Raiders?

Where's Moltzen?

I saw him last night in the Sizzler carpark next to Saints leagues.
He had a folder tucked under his arm, and it looked important . . like it had documents in it.
Now I can't be certain . . . coz it was getting dark . . . but I'm pretty sure Tim Sheens and Benji were walking with him.
They were all holding hands.
Great news for St George !.

I wouldn't accept a pay cut to stay in my current employment, especially when a competitor comes along and offers a shedload more.

End of the day we all have our own thoughts and feelings about this , we have seen Woods , Simona , Brooks , Nofo , Sironen etc re sign BUT NONE of these guys have sucked the club endless for months on end and in the media plus using the "club offered me less then old contract bs" .. Sounds like the old Benji verbal agreement crap to me . As I mentioned before .. yeah what ever he went for more money which is human nature and is also called greed , and in the same hand fans are also entitled to their human natural reaction to feel pissed and a angry . We all react differently so please let people have their own emotions .
