You have to laugh at some on here & their expectations. Bag a couple of gun centres & wingers on Birds money.
eg.
Morris twin have been on +$550 k for 3 years.
Lynnet has been on $500 k for 3 years.
Jennings is on $600k
Even Peachy was signed at + 300k 3 years ago
James Roberts renegged on $450k at the Titans
Mark Gasnier was on $500k in 2010
You want a gun centre for next years wages? $650 gets you to the front door to ask questions. 700-900 lands the said gun.

The NRL have really cocked this up for the clubs. They all thought that they had an extra 1.5mill in the salary cap for next year. That's inflated everyones supposed worth and there are going to be a lot of disappointed players.

Yes, they have. Greenburg is an absolute dud.

As much as I'd hate to see him go, the NRL really someone like Lyall in charge. A dude with vision with a track record of getting stuff done. How embarrassing is it for the NRL that a club has got a women's team up and running despite the ineptitude of head office.

Why would the NRL even want a womens comp is beyond me. Hope we aren't putting much money into it.

It's not about the womens comp itself, it's about actually doing something positive. Lyall's given the sharks some great press out of it, sponsors love it, good for wider community interest, my girls are asking about it (one of their sub teachers is in the side). But yeah...let's hope we're not spending more than $4.50 on it...

Its about having a pathway.
the AFL have developed that, so that girls can continue playing mall the way through.

The main chick from the crows...the one who won best on field etc is an Olympian and WNBA player.
played basically for free, because she had to give up footy at 13 etc.

the main thing they say is in you can see it, you can be it.

In terms of league...some form of pathway from say, junior footy to league tag or nines all the way through to the jillaroos or a nines comp run by the league.

its the best way top get women into the league, better than pink jerseys and white ribbon.

I don't care about gender equality in sport. Professional sport is the same as any other business in the modern day world. The best of the best can make careers out or of it, the rest can play down at your local park and have a sausage sizzle afterwards.

What is Tedesco actually worth on the open market?
Whatever anybody is willing to pay. Hed be in the top 5 fullbacks in the game. Fullback is in the top 4 paid positions in the game.
So you would need to put a price on Fullback allocation of funds. Lets say $900? Then drop 200k for non established young fullback then add 200k for established top 5?

That's about what I thought. It's actually laughable that knights are offering Bird the same amount of money.

Tedesco is in another league.

well that's fine, but you are in an shrinking minority.
women sport in the last ..5 years or so has become a commercially viable entity. you have seen it in the WBBL , W league etc.

I haven't seen anything, I know it exists but never will I watch a game of anything but of the highest level.

Let them play, but they shouldnt be making careers out of it.

Do you think Tedesco would have played through that elbow injury on 1 arm? I can guarantee you not many would have. Not only that, but play well. Sure he was needled, adrenalin all that stuff. But, it showed just how good bird is going to be as he develops.

All you knobs calling for it to f**k off are dinosaurs.
If you can't see that the womens Comp is made to attract supporters to the main game then you are blind. My 6 y at old daughter wants to play for the sharks now the girls play. She wants a jersey and all the other crap. Now wants to go the game.

It has planted the seed for hundreds of little girls to become fans, which in turn encourages them to have kids who play and auppprt the NRL teams and the circle of life continues.

They should be baking cakes and making sandwiches. The only involvement at rugby league should be to cut up the oranges and staff the canteen.

I know for sure that Dugan wouldn't have.
Tedesco gets knocked around a lot.

Bird has definitely shown his toughness. Definitely shown he has football in him, but the non involvement and fading in and out of games from lack of concentration are the exact same reasons you don't like Holmes.

The club should keep all the young first graders if possible.
We would end up with a backline of average age 25, all averaging about 100 games.

Aprrox 1% of the female population would even entertain playing league once they hit puberty.

I don't care if Tedesco plays with one arm or not. He is a gun and dominates almost every game he plays in.
