Tedesco

I haven't seen anything, I know it exists but never will I watch a game of anything but of the highest level.

Let them play, but they shouldnt be making careers out of it.

Why the f**k not? Because your misogyny says they shouldn't? You are within your rights to ignore it but to say girls shouldn't be able to get a career out of playing a sport because you are a dick is, well, a dick move.

I know for sure that Dugan wouldn't have.
Tedesco gets knocked around a lot.

Bird has definitely shown his toughness. Definitely shown he has football in him, but the non involvement and fading in and out of games from lack of concentration are the exact same reasons you don't like Holmes.

The club should keep all the young first graders if possible.
We would end up with a backline of average age 25, all averaging about 100 games.
I dont dislike holmes. hes just not good enough to be on the money he is on & all of the princess games his managment has been playing, has also irritated me. Holmes has the potential to be a good winger, on a good wingers wage. The nut jobs that were calling for him to be selected ahead of benny over previous seasons was incomprehensible. If Holmes goes down with a serious knee injury, it will be interesting to see how he recovers. I dont have those concerns about somebody like Bird, who will come back early, be restricted & still play well.

Do you think Tedesco would have played through that elbow injury on 1 arm? I can guarantee you not many would have. Not only that, but play well. Sure he was needled, adrenalin all that stuff. But, it showed just how good bird is going to be as he develops.
I'm birds biggest supporter. After just 2 games of him playing 5/8 in his first year I said we should sign him for life. He will be a mega talent.

I just don't think he is worth the same as tedesco at this point in time.

I don't watch B grade movies because they're not as good, the same reason I won't watch female sports.

Yeah lets not kid ourselves here. No one will watch females playing league. Not even females.

You blokes should run to be next NRL CEO, might give Greenburg some competition. Glad we've got Lyall.

Tedesco did play a couple of games on a broken leg early in his career to be fair to him

Got KO'd by Lewis in the first minute of a game against us what last year or the year before?

Came back after 15 minutes to burn us for almost the rest of the half. Fortunately the rest of their team is horrible and we didn't have an issue getting home.

Fair point to give Bird his due credit, but i think a bit harsh on Tedesco.

Its about having a pathway.
the AFL have developed that, so that girls can continue playing mall the way through.

The main chick from the crows...the one who won best on field etc is an Olympian and WNBA player.
played basically for free, because she had to give up footy at 13 etc.

the main thing they say is in you can see it, you can be it.

In terms of league...some form of pathway from say, junior footy to league tag or nines all the way through to the jillaroos or a nines comp run by the league.

its the best way top get women into the league, better than pink jerseys and white ribbon.

It keeps girls in sport to adults, then more chance them letting there sons play rugby league against the other codes

I don't watch womens footy.
They put that Jillaroos /NZ game on during the 9's and I walk away.

I've watched the same two countries play netball and don't mind it - but I wouldn't watch it if it was guys playing.

I have no interest in watching women play rugby league but good luck to them.
However, if my daughter played I'd be at every game as I'd have an emotional interest.

Sport is great and if it keeps them active, mentally well and gives young girls self esteem then it can only be a good thing

Im getting the feeling that his comment was based upon the fact that it might be a financial burden to our club. if it is not a write down or if it is paying for itself somehow, then I agree that it shouldnt be happening. I dont see any benefits in it. Actually I dont mind watching the women play Oztag. I reckon an Oztag compeition would work better.

Another thing, now that Australian women have fully embraced the pussy slap revolution, is there someway that could be turned into a national competition.
Just remember, I didnt invent it.

Most clubs lose money. Maybe they should all disappear as well?

i like that Lyall has taken a positive approach to it. It's all about the sharks brand and not just being a one dimensional footy club for +40 year old blokes.

Of course there would be a financial limit to what they'd tip in, but it helps with community engagement, new sponsors as well as pathways for female players and new fans.
