I know Barty is number one and all....but I've never seen her as dominant as I have in this Australian Open. It feels like a bit of destiny to win this one.

There has been such a ruthlessness about Barty's play this tournament, she has strangled her opponents and not let them into the matches, it has been great to watch.

She had some tough wins in her French and Wimbledon runs......this tournament (despite the commentators trying to paint that she had a struggle) has been an absolute cakewalk for her...despite some tough opposition.
I don't think I've even seen the Williams sisters win without at least one tough match for them. Every match has been easy so far...lets hope the final is too.

I don't see Barty lose this tournament. So, so dominant....some destiny coming up.

First Australian woman in 42 years since Wendy Turnbull to make the final.
Funny i can still remember the 1980 final now as clear as it was back then, Turnbull beat Martina Navratilova in straight sets in the semi and was considered a good chance of beating Hana Mandlikova in the final but nerves got the better of Turnbull and Hana took the first set 6-0 in 14 minutes, it was only trailing 2-5 in the second set that Turnbull found some form to bring it back to 5-5 before Hana closed it out.

As you say it looks like it has aligned for Barty, just hope she can keep up her dominate form for one more game.

That is the thing, she has had some great opposition this tournament but she hasn't let any of them get close, she has strangled all of them, i honestly thought this match with Keys would have been closer though.

It is the most dominant run I have seen since some Rafa French Opens. All of her opposition have just bent over so far.

Good day of tennis.....a couple of cockheads in there (Collins and Kyrgios) but great to see Alcott and Barty rise above it.

Collins seems like such a sour bitch. I hope Barty destroys her.

I hope Ebden and Purcell win purely because all the focus has been on Kyrgios as per usual. Really though, it's a win for Australia either way, so can't complain. We've won the men's doubles and are likely to win the Women's singles. What an Open for us.

People are in love with Kyrgios....but my goodness, the man is an underachiever. For a guy who has beaten Federer, Nadal and Djokovic the first time he played them, for him to have

*0 slams
*0 masters titles
*never been in the top 10.
*outside the top 100 and drifting.
*not reached a quarter final in a major since 2015

is a big underachievement. If you look at my last two dot points and match that to any player, you'd assume that player is well and truly on the drift. In the case of Kyrgios, all he has to do is.......care. A good year of knuckling down would see him make some serious headway. These days, he has to rely on wildcards to get into tournaments....I cannot see the bloke swallow his pride and play quallies.

Isn't his mentality that Tennis is just his job and gives no f**ks?

True....and good on him for getting as far as he has and with endorsements. I can't help but feel he'll have regrets down the track though. I read a report that he may retire at the end of the year. I don't believe it...but it would be an absolute waste if he did. As much as he reflects that he doesn't care, a part of him would wonder "what if?". He would not be human if he didn't

Very low level SF that one, but a dream for Nadal. Into the final under 3 hours.

I think he wins this one, he will throw everything at it and Tsitsipas/Medvedev haven’t looked like overwhelming favourites. Nadal has a match up advantage against both as well. Given how far off his best he is I wouldn’t have picked it, but well done to him.

Hopefully. You wouldn't want a Clayton's Aussie Open title would you?
People miss tournaments all the time for all sorts of reasons. No asterisk.

Let's hope he can convert his chance unlike Djokovics 2020 US Open.

I'm not even being pessimistic though, both Medvedev and Tsitsipas are better hard court players than Nadal right now and if he has his usual lapses mid-match, he'll get destroyed.

He goes out there to enjoy himself. He maybe could play a slam winning game but probably wouldn’t enjoy it enough. Ultimately it’s his bank account that suffers, I’ve never understood why people get so up in arms about it.
