2-0 0-40. Med will be absolutely devastated at that choke. But not good enough, once Nadal found his range he just had to fight and he did. Next gen still a long way to go, another one for the old fellas. Amazing resilience from the Spaniard.

Im a Roger Federer lover and always will be........but Rafael Nadal is now the GOAT! One of the toughest slam wins of Rafa's career.....he won that through pure physicality because Medvedev had more than Rafa in the skill kitbag. Big congrats!

YES!!! WHAT A CHAMPION!

I've been waiting a f**king decade for this. This was his last chance. He wasn't at his best, and it wasn't easy, but nobody deserves this more than him.

To win another Australian Open after all his heartbreak here, 13 years on at 35 years old, I couldn't be happier. I think this might be the biggest win of his career; at the very least the biggest of the 2nd half of his career. It definitely wasnt his "best" form wise but given the circumstances it was one of the biggest.

f**k yeah! I can honestly die a happy Nadal fan... finally.

Nadal is definitely the toughest competitor I've ever seen on a tennis court.....and one of the toughest competitors I've seen in sport period. He deserves to be recognized as the GOAT of the sport.

Mate....Im a Federer fan......but I have bloody huge respect for Rafa and he truly deserves to be recognized as the GOAT. He is definitely past his peak as a player....but that was true guts.
