Tepai Moeroa

That's good news if he continues the same way he is progressing. I'd be interested to know how much they need to spend on him and how it is structured to fend off Super Rugby, or maybe he just loves playing at Parra.

Spoke to someone close to the club. He reckons Tepai is the best he has seen since Hindmarsh. He is adamant he will play origin within 3 years if he chooses that path. Tepai is from the Cook Islands.

Something to do where they first play footy at 16 or so I think. Semi can play for Australia but not for qld/nsw

Moeroa played Harold Matthews didn't he?

Still can't believe the kid is only 18. Wow.

Chill brother.

Tim Smith, Paul Mares, David Woods, Mick Delroy, Danny Sulivan, Justin Tsoulos, Michael Witt, both Keatings, Tom Humble, Rory Brien (I could go on) had everyone just as excited as they progressed towards NRL.

So far his 2 FG games have been very promising.

How many of those players made their debut at 18?

I'll answer your question with a question. If Brian Smith was the coach do you think he would have debuted ?

He would not start Hayne FFS and we had to wait until JT got the gig.

I'll question your answer of a question with a question Gronk:

How old was Hindmarsh when he debuted under Smith? (in fact, list the ages of many of our 2000s blokes when they debuted).

I believe Smith when he said he was forbidden from playing Hayne (by Fitzy allegedly), because it is very much out of character for him not to play a young bloke.

He made Cayless the youngest NRL captain in history and debuted Danny Sullivan at 19. Hindy too. With this mounting injury toll maybe he would have had no choice like Arthur. Basically no injury to Mau, no debut for Tepai.

Mares was good (at footy and oxidisation) and debuted at 19, but his knees did him in.

Playing NRL at 18 isn't something to thumb one's nose at. The most recent blokes to do it at Parra were Loko ('11), Hayne ('06), Brett Anderson (f**ken who??? in '04 aged 17), Graham ('02), Tonga ('02), Irvine ('00), Lyon ('00), Richards ('00), Burt ('99 aged 17), Hodgson ('98).

The only forward was Michael Hodgson, and he only played one game. Like Tepai Moeroa he turned 19 after the season had ended. However he never became a gun, unlike Hindy who debuted at 19.

Smith debuted a couple of 17 year olds. His problem with Hayne was his attitude, not his age.

Really ? I always heard BS say that if you wanted the answer to that, you'd need to speak to the front office. That suggested that it was cap or other. Like what OMC said.
