No way are India the best.

What's their record outside of Asia recently? Not including the hapless Windies.

I even rate Australia over India on the strength of Hazlewood & Starc.

Ashwin's record is almost as fraudulent as Voges'.

People say that regarding Ashwin, but his average outside India is better than the GOATs career average....so he's not terrible either.

He's pretty rubbish in Australia but what visiting finger spinner isnt?

who would be the first ? not that we need one

this spot would be Agar's best chance as he wouldn't get a gig on his bowling alone.

John Cartwright Jr.

On all rounders, do you think if James Faulkner stopped trying to bowl left arm chinaman off a long run in and focused on seam up that he could be a good test option?

Ashwin is fine

Team with homebsummers are obviously favoured in rankings, everyone is close but India is #1 ATM, not by much but it's fair enough. You're overrating RSA on the basis of one series

Cartright is not really an all rounder imo, he only bowled 4 overs in the last test.

Faulkner is a decent ODI player but would need to bowl faster that 125ks to get a gig in the test team. I don tthink he would bowl too many of those chinamen in test cricket if he got a run. I still think Mmarsh is our best all rounder, he goes OK in ODI with his batting but cant get runs in test cricket for some reason, I dont think his bowling has ever been an issue as he was always good for a wicket or two.

It just shows we dont have a world class all rounder so why keep looking. In my opinion we just need a No 6 batsman and a spinner who is more effective than the Goat. The reason we continue to look for an all rounder is to take some work load from Haze and Starc because the Goat generally does f**k all as far as taking wickets and he gives away too many runs so he doesn't build pressure.

I think we should have given Maddinson more of a chance, or picked Kurt Patterson as a no 6 batsman. Personally I dont think Cartright is up to it on what I've seen but he should probabaly be given more than 1 test match to prove himself.

I just looked up this tour for its dates on Cricinfo - the limited overs leg of this tour is in October/November.

What in the actual f**k CA? We have an Ashes summer next year and instead of being here preparing for the most important series we play, we'll be in India playing the pyjama game?

Did we learn nothing the year we prepared for the Ashes with Mickey-Mouse ODIs against Sri Lanka and then lost them.

f**k me these morons piss me off!

I agree Maddinson should have got an extended run. We all know he has the goods. Had some bad luck really.

Quiney looked terrific in the 20:20, surely the door isn't shut on such a talented player, Wadey should be an inspiration for him and Maddinson

Yeah I saw that a few weeks ago and just shook my head, then I thought hopefully they send Mennie, Tremain and Boland over there for that series and also recall Finch and Bailey and Maxwell, so basically we get most of the test players staying at home playing 2-3 Shield games before the ashes. Wishfull thinking I know..

We'd do that to South Africa, no way will CA piss off the BCCI by sending the second XI.

Smith, Warner, Starc and Hazlewood will 100% go.

Maybe we should piss them of to be honest

What they gonna do? We are regularly the no1 ODI side and probably the biggest drawcard in that format
They should have played the ODI series after the tests, put back the IPL by a week or so, problem fixed.

While Sutherland stays in charge money will continue to rule over the good of the game. How this gimp continues to keep his job boggles the mind.

SOK was hooked from BBL last night by CA to prepare for India, looks like he is in the squad.

I'm reading Renshaw is no certainty to be in the squad?

If he isn't picked, I won't be having Foxtel turned on early (as opposed to NRL Rd 1) like I had planned. He has to go after the fight he's shown.

If we are so persistant with SMarsh then Khawaja should be the one that goes out as he is still a pretty average player of spin but why are we bringing an injury prone bat in Marsh back again

Khawajas judgment around off stump is impeccable. His judgment of straight half volleys against offies on subcontinent wickets not so much.
