Test squad for India?

I can't believe they're even discussing the possibility of omitting Renshaw.

Is this one of those new age approaches? "If he goes to India so early in his career he might struggle and get hurt feelings" ...

As opposed to 20-30+ years ago when you'd say "he's a fine young player and even if he doesn't score many runs he'll learn a lot and come back a tougher and improved player".

That was Boof that made that comment, our selectors are so gun shy they really dont know which way to jump.

Can't believe Boof was even thinking it let alone said it, compared Renshaw's situation to Marshes last year. What rot Marsh scored big on a road Against the Windies after coming in for Oozie. Renshaw has played 4 tests as a 20 year old and has acquitted himself well. Compared to a injury prone 32 yr old who has plenty of chances.

This is how careers are ruined. Renshaw comes off a massive ton, but will get dropped for Marsh because of Marsh's alleged ability against spin?

How will that effect the mindset of a guy like Renshaw, knowing there is literally nothing he can do, no amount of runs he can score, and not get dropped?

We are an absolute joke if that happens.

Also, what a class act Boof is proving to be. Personally attacking Brett Geeves and saying his opinion doesn't count for 'not being a good player' because he dares to question not picking Renshaw.

Does that mean Jim Maxwell knows nothing? Jonathan Agnew? Harsha Bhogle? What about Tony Cozier, did he know nothing?

Very low act from Lehmann, who frankly I've come to expect more of.

Sound like he's under a lot of pressure tbh, poor form, petulant bullshit

Hohns still a selector? Was he good enough to justify an opinion? Mike Hesson?

Any sane person would select both if you had to select Marsh who can be a back up, middle order or even if he gets a go Renshaw as a back up seems a good option also.

If you really want to see how pathetic this is, check our Brett Geeves twitter - Lehmann apparently de-friended him on Facebook after his article came out.

So Rachel McAdams character from Mean Girls is currently coaching Australia. Just f**king wow.

Just bring Marsh in for Cartwright. Easy.

Don't try and over think this one selectors, that's how you get plodders like Mennie instead of Bird, or a rotation policy that has been disastrous.

Lol wow indeed... that's beyond pathetic

And as above BOTH Renshaw and Marsh should tour, Tgey aren't mutually exclusive

Surely Marsh bats 6 or 5 (with Handscomb at 6) in India you won't get away with the hole at 6 and 7 there, and it seems the vacuum at 7 is here to stay

I've always liked Lehman but that's petulant piss weak stuff, sounds like someone who got his arse handed to him in his last overseas tour, and one of the two home series, who's about to be under immense pressure when India are done with his team

In fairness Geeves is a massive bell end himself.

Marsh should play six, definitely not open over Renshaw.

That article from Geeves was very good, till I got to the bit that said Maxwell should be in the squad for India and I said plenty to him on FB. He has done exactly what Boof did, plays favourites that have no current form.

Apart from the technical and logical reasons why Renshaw should be selected, Marsh is at the wrong end of his career and Renshaw is at the right end of his.

Its pretty much a no brainer for mine.

As mentioned, Renshaw open, SMarsh at 5/6.

I'm not sure what to think of Geeves. He hs some reasonable insight, but sounded like a bit of a tool at times during his career.

That logic of "He didn't play x level so what would he know" annoys me though. It leads to shit commentary when they base employment on where you played rather than ability to broadcast (covers league and other sports also).

I remember there would be a few of the 'experts' on the Nine panel shows that used to do that to Voss. He'd have a solid idea, MG wouldn't like it so he'd fire back with 'how many origins did you play'.

Bullshit logic and drives me crazy.

Lehman's behaviour of late has been bizarre to say the least. What a stupid statement.

Geeves has been a revelation in the media since the demolition by South Africa, he's been playing it straight since and is now being attacked for it.
