As moderator of this forum, I wanted to take the opportunity to thank posters on this forum for their contributions during the 2005 season. The spirit in here was strong all year, and I was never in any danger of having to delete threads or censure posters.

I'd like to recognise old time regulars Meltiger, Cupid Stunt & Up The Mighty Phins in particular, as these three have been posting here since the old LWOS days.

A new breed of regular also arose this season with Camsmith, Chileman, Go the Bears, Twizzle, JTR, Auckmel & Stormin Norman giving numbers here a much needed boost! It was greatly appreciated from this end.

Across the finals series I was stunned by the upsurge in Swans posters here, and it was great to have the forum engaging lively discussion deep into September, when in previous years it has all but died come late August.

I'll be trying to keep trade & draft discussion flowing over the next couple of months for those who maintain an interest in these things, but even if this doesn't get you going, I'm hoping to see most of you back here for another suitably big AFL season in 2006!

GOOD ON YAS, I LOVE YAS ALL!!! :thumb

(But not in an homo-erotic way, not that there's at all anything wrong with that)

Good onya amigo CK....I'll be back for sure and keeping an eye on the comings and goings of players for season 2006! Enjoyed everyones threads and it's great we have a place here in LU where we can talk about the game we love and also talk League (also loved dearly by myself) and soccer ect ect......AFL was the winner this season....not just Sydney!

That's because of the 4 old timers (The 3 you mentioned plus yourself) .... 3 of us barrack for Footscray, Hawthorn and Richmond!! Been a barren few years for us ;-)

I was particularly happy to have Cam here with some pro-Richmond backup!

Forget Chileman and his bandwagon jumping ways though - We can do without him :p

For the record though, I'd classify Auckmel as an oldtimer though mate, he's been around since the LWOS days and even back to rleague.

Even if he is a Skunk supporter :p

Well done CyberKev. Keep up the work. Remember there is the "silly" season coming up with the drafts!

Cheers, Old Son!

Personally, I love the cut and thrust of the silly season.

I strongly suspect this is because I've been getting little joy from my side in the season proper, but you take what you can get wherever you can get it.

I think next week is official trade week, which will result in infinite possibilities being bandied around from Monday through Thursday, and a mere handful of actual trades being done late morning on the Friday...

I was thinking that myself, but I didn't want to put it into words for fear of further depressing myself.

Not to worry, if a side like this Swans outfit can land a flag then there has to be hope for anybody.

Why is it that I can't think of you and Cam in a simultaneous sense without conjuring up imagery of Statler & Waldorf?

At least its not imagery of Bert & Ernie, I suppose, although, now that I've put that one out there...

Its been fun. I look forward to talking about all moves throughout the summer.

Lets hope next September instead of talking about the usual suspects in the finals we can be talking about how the Dogs...Tiges..Hawks are going to go in the finals.

Kev thanks for not being an arse of a moderator :D

I thought I was.

I must be getting softer around the edges than I thought.

You would think the bitter taste of way too many Dragons defeats in big games would be having the opposite effect.

Maybe I need to spend a bit of time over on the Fight Club forum before people start thinking of me and envisioning Guy Smiley! :sch:

Skunk? Never heard that one before, meltiger. :)

Don't talk about the game much here as I'm more into my local club than anything else.

One day, maybe.

Thanks to Kev and the other regulars - haven't had much chance to post here this season but I've had a look in most days to get a fix.

BTW, did someone mention Statler and Waldorf?

Dean,

Is that Statler or Waldorf in your avatar?

I was having an argument yesterday over who was who.

Waldorf, I think

Haha...

Yeah, that was my thinking too, but who really knows?!

I tried to find out on the Muppets official site, but they only ever refer to them as a pair, not as individuals.
