One of my best mates had a bad one in the 2002. He wasn't given long.
He had it cut out more than a few times, got an extra 20 years in, a wife and two kids after it was discovered.
It was worth it.

Yeah, I’m glad he’s sharing it.

From my reading up on it, Im pretty confident and positive for him.

I know a bloke, not with this but something else (very serious) given 2 years and 14 years later, still going strong.

And a spinal nurse told me about someone who wasn’t supposed to recover and has. Still has to come in for tests to work out what happened.

Just be very careful in the surf lads, buffer yourself if you get tumbled in a dumper, better yet, if the surf is vicious, don’t risk it.

And @roboshark, there are others on our LU, they are in inescapable trouble. I can’t give them away. All power to them. I think about them sometimes.

I work with a fella who's the same age as me (42) and he was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor when he was a kid, he's pretty well deaf - had hearing aids all his life and got the cochlear implant only a few months ago, other than that has had no issues. I'll ask him some more about it next week and pass back anything to you that may be of relevance.

Thanks mate. I've been told I will definitely lose my hearing in 1 ear. Wait and see how much my out of picket expenses will be for op but will need to look into some ear implant depending on cost

Thanks BBB. I've been told if I get this all out then I may suffer some complications like deafness etc but hopefully can live a full life after it

Don’t forget in the dealing with stuff, 95% of the time we worry about stuff that actually doesn’t happen. Something like that.

My grandpa was told he wouldn't make it to see me be born. He had two, maybe three chemo treatments I can't remember but it wasn't what got him in the end. Pneumonia got him and he passed away when I was 35 and he was in his late 90s and was well and truly ready to go. He got pneumonia because he stopped taking his tablets and had a stroke but that is another story. You just never know.

My hearing has been really bad in that 1 ear for years and years. I had a scan for a totally different issue and they found this

Ended up less than that, and by no means the most no voters but still poor.

I believe Cook has the highest proportion of oldies in an electorate so hopefully that skewed it.

I hope all goes well mate. You are far better off to have taken the time to get the issue looked at and taken the advice of the medics to have the op done. Many don’t.
I’m sure post op you will be able to take the optics of life differently as well. All the best
