2 tips.
Take 1 ciggy and put it the filter up your clacker then back in the packet.

Also eat 1

You won’t ever want to smoke one again.

One of the smartest things I have ever done in my life was not to start smoking. Beer drinking was a different proposition. I would be lucky to have had half a packet in my entire life.

When I was a pup of around five years old my old man would give me the job of running across the two soccer fields (where the Gymea Tech is now) and go to the Servo that was at the intersection of Hotham Rd and the Princes Hwy and buy his packet of Champion Ruby Tobacco.

My reward, I got to open the packet and smell the fresh tobacco. To this day I still love the smell of fresh tobacco. It was a miracle that I never took it up. Dad always loved his cigs and pipe.

But when it comes to smoking the shit I was never interested. Even with the peer pressure thingy. Now beer drinking I loved it. Was a signed up member of the Tradies at 16 years of age. Back then if I was in a Union that was enough. It was the days of Tradies just being an old house with an auditorium extension and a downstairs snooker room.

Beer drinking, a habit I loved until 20 years ago when I decided I better start looking after myself. It took me two goes but I gave it up. Don't miss it at all now.

Lifes good when you are dull and boring.

The best thing for me this time trying to kick the habit is I think I was the only person left in Australia still smoking the normal brand cigarettes, those cheap ones everyone is smoking taste like shit so I won't be tempted to scab 1 off someone now. Which is generally how I'd take it back up every other time I'd stopped.

True story and one for youse smokers to take onboard. My old man was a very fit bloke, hard worker, an a grade opening bowler in the Shire, but he smoked from a young age, smoked a lot up until he retired. I think it was 62 retirment age back then, I'm not sure. Anyhow the old boy left us close to 20 years ago now.

Dad had his visit to the funeral fire the week leading up to the Sharkie boys winning both the Under 23s and the Reserrve Grade GFs. It was that year that he passed. He would of been pissed off missing those games.

When Mum and Dad retired they left the Shire and moved north of Woolgoolga and settled in a Caravan Park at Corindi Beach. They loved it.

The old man, as you do, went into Whoopi (Woolgoolga) looking for a new Doctor so he and mum could be on the books.

He went and saw this youngish Doctor and as soon as Dad told him he was a smoker the Doc burred up and told dad to virtually piss off and find someone else. He said that he was sick of all the old bloke smokers, retiring and coming up from Sydney and he had to treat them till they died because of smoking related health problems. He wasn't interested in Dad at all.

Dad said 'what have I got to give up smoking?" The Doc said if you want me to be your doctor then yes. Dad walked out of that surgery and never smoked again. We the family and Mum couldn't believe it but the old boy did. And good on him too.

He got another 12 years life after, the first 10 of which were great but the far can Emphysema caught up with him and his last two years were hell. He was a man drowning in a sea of fresh air. Watching him having to hook up to the oxygen when he couldn't get enough air into the lungs. A sight I won't forget.

Even a 12 year break and the cigs still got him. Moral to the story there somewhere.

Great story @Quigs and one I can relate to.
I watched my grandfather and mother both go out the same way.
Not a lot of fun to witness.

I remember mum telling me a story about my grandfather trying to give up smoking some time back in the 80's.
He'd tried everything.
Someone ended up suggesting acupuncture (it was really new and in vogue at the time).

So he booked himself in and went through the process.
At the end he paid the bill, walked outside, sparked one up and said to my grandmother "well that doesn't work".

World’s most popular adult site is now blocked without age verification in Australia.

If anyone is going to find away to watch porn it’s a Horney 16 year old, so what’s the point.

Crazy government control shit

Just on the smoking convo, my old man was a big smoker from age 17 (could have been earlier, not sure) and he just could never give up and he was such a stubborn prick, he just didn't want to. He loved a drink also but the cigs were way worse.

Through his 40s, 50s and 60s he just kept right on going and finally, after visiting about 10 doctors and hoping one would say he was doing the right thing, he succumbed at age 66, way too young. Had a big heart attack in front of the TV watching SBS, but it must have been peaceful because Mum went to bed, never heard a thing and woke up the next day to find him gone. It was a normal thing for him to go asleep in his chair, his Type 2 diabetes made his legs swell and laying down on the bed was painful.

She got up that morning, saw him in the chair, thought nothing of it and went out to hose the garden. She then came back in and started the vacuuming. When she got near the old man, she said, "Move your feet Eric." Of course he didn't because he couldn't. He was gone. I had married by this time and moved away so I was a bit shocked to get the phone call to say he had died.

Thankfully I never took it up because I could see what it did to my Dad. It is why it absolutely baffles me why anyone would want to take up smoking, especially today when we have a bit more evidence that it can take years off your life. I'm baffled especially why young people do it, especially young girls. I guess they all think it's cool and think they are invincible at a young age.

When I was younger, if I fancied a girl that suddenly pulled out a ciggie, I was turned off immediately and I didn't care how hot she was. I almost didn't marry my wife as I found out she was a social smoker after going out with her a few times but on our honeymoon she went cold turkey and never touched another one again.

It is a weird thing why people like to smoke, I don't understand it and I'll never forgive Sir Walter Raleigh for introducing it to England in the 1580s. Anyway he lost his head so well deserved!

Can trump blow the f**k out of Iran or Iran nuke the US. Sick of the bullshit we have to go through because they are at war.

I watched this sometime last year and it helped me understand a little of Trump's motives, particularly with regard to the "reciprocal tariffs".

I'm not sure if this is what he has been attempting to stave off, but I can't help but feel his latest moves will be the straw that broke the camel's back, as far as US dominance is concerned.

I think he is that old and it really doesn’t matter to him so he is just going rogue. In 20 years I bet his son is president.

I can’t help but feel he’s largely sold out of a shiteload of assets and is hellbent if driving prices as low as he can before swooping in and buying everything at a discount.

Nothiing would surprise me with this prick.
