The acceptance of WIN has been a farce since it was accepted and once again poor management from our inept Board.The whole affair needs investigating and made transparent to all stakeholders

l'm late to this thread but to answer it correctly, forget who our alligences are to, stats and history will show we have NOT chosen the right buyer.

Fact is, it was a boat race from the start.
Gordon had already shored up the required votes by having his son on the board to prospect other board members.

When a better offer came through, they rejected it!
Why ......... Because they would of lost their cushy jobs, hence they accepted the corrupt lower bid.
And we wonder why the club hasn't forged ahead.

Doomed from the start.
Throw in a pathetic coach who obviously can't be sacked and we arrive to where we are today, and they have the hide to question our loyality as fans.

The board and ownership is totally corrupt, without peer ( well, maybe Trump and alike ) .... but thats another matter.

Can't see the point in this thread. It has happened so deal with it.What does it change by whinging about it ? keep the pressure on the Board by all means but don't dwell on things that have happened and can't be changed.

JV are not set in stone they are mutually, albeit at times a series of binding compromise(s) to which respective parties agree to, for the purpose of conducting an ongoing enterprise on a shared basis. The rights of each party would be agreed to and defined including in most cases the process for termination of the venture. Deep pockets normally by one party who seeks to acquire the commercial and defined interests of the other party. TSE could always launch a bid for one half or all of the JV. It all comes down to MONEY. Kerry Packer said words to the effect of "gentleman there is a little bit of the whore in all of us...gentleman tell me what is your price?".

Not defending WIN here, but apart from a few media articles about the alternate investor, does anyone know the terms / conditions TSE sought in their bid ?

Im confident that any buy- in would have to have been ratified by the NRL.

It is possible there was a roadblock in this regard? I don't know, but it seems to me if the TSE bid was significantly higher in dollar value, then the NRL would be negligent to approve the WIN deal, unless the TSE deal did not meet certain conditions.

There was some press back when WIN pulled their offer that St G wanted to buy out Illawarra but that scenario was ruled out by the NRL
