In the early 90s Weddings PArties Anything were in town, and were doing the obligatory promo on afternoon FM radio. Just before being interviewed, the local FM station played one of their house cartridges along the lines of 'You're a great radio station FM 104, but I wish you'd play more Phil Collins' to which the bass player from WPA replied 'You can get f**ked then'........promo over.

I'm sure someone said this story last time i spoke about Phil. Probably you, Barry.

I can honestly say idk who WPA are.

I have a few of his concerts on DVD. The best!

WPA are/were a folk-rock ish sort of band, somewhere between the Pogues and Mumford and Sons, but a lot better than either in my opinion.

You'd have heard their more commercial stuff, e.g. 'Fathers Day', 'Monday's Experts' (as a lead in to weekend sports shows).

I only watched it a few months ago, i put it off because i thought it would be shit, but i didn't think it was too bad. Not great, but not terrible lol.

I wish he would put out another album of his own stuff but he has a few health problems i think.
