I knew the IGR was an important document when that clueless pelican Bowen described it as a work of fiction. Currently Bowen is making Wayne Swann appear credible

Never thought that was possible :)

Bowen certainly is Captain Pelican, but I'd have to say (and this surprises me a little) that Hockey has shown a remarkable degree of political (and economic) ineptitude over the past 10-12 months, and I think he has firmly established himself in the pelican camp. Whether he thought that the only people he was answerable to were the Syd Uni Young Libs, I don't know, but his actions are consistent with that.

Agreed BarryO , Hockey Has really disappointed , what a battle of the minds a financial debate between those 2

Saw a Foley ad on TV tonight, he is going for premier of NSW And has his missus or whatever hand balling AFL style, a negative campaign with no acknowledgement to the major code , then again I don't expect anything different

And an excerpt from the IGR shows that they KNOW anthropogenic global warming is REAL?

Abbott once famously described climate change as “absolute crap” .

Shorten asked him in QT yesterday “Does the government believe that climate change might be beneficial?” (referring to the IR).

Abbott said he is now happy to confirm that “climate change is real.”

“And it is very important that the government has put in place strong and effective policies to deal with it,”

He said Australia needs “an intelligent and sensible conversation”

Abbott acknowledged that the IR had said that some effects of climate change might be economically beneficial and others might be harmful.

I can track down Hansard if you want a link.

This is an important document. It should be an important document which informs public debate. That's the way Peter Costello intended it, that’s the way Wayne Swan did it. Joe Hockey does not respect the Charter of Budget Honesty. The Intergenerational Report should be a bi-partisan document which informs public debate, not a cheap political prop for Joe Hockey.

The only things I heard Labour and the Greens saying about it were little digs to push their own (partisan) agendas.

I probably missed Palmers eloquent bipartisan speech. Thank goodness he's around to save us from all those interested in their own brand of politics

Where did Hockey show greater disrespect for the Charter of Budget Honesty than anyone else ever has?

Ok then. Economist Richard Denniss wrote in crikey:
Joe Hockey and his Treasury Department have forecast what would happen in 2055 under the most implausible of assumptions and scenarios, including, for example, that ALP or Coalition policies from 2013 remain unchanged for 40 years. While no reader could miss the “finding” that ALP policies would deliver enormous deficits and debts, few would probably realise that this would only occur if Labor didn’t reintroduce the carbon tax, which it has promised to restore. Treasury also assumes in its “previous policy” scenario that even as the deficit grows, the government of the day would cut income taxes each year. Garbage in, garbage out.

This is quite funny coming from the most relentless name-caller on this site when it comes to politics.

PM Abbott: "I think the UN's representatives would have a lot more credibility if they were to give some credit to the Australian Gov't."
