For the record, I subscribe to The Australian. Mostly because it's a national daily, but it's still the best newspaper I've come across.

You compared the two? Why would you read the Murdoch media if they're so biased?

If I want to read the news I read abc.net.au because they don't restrict the number of articles I can read. They are definitely biased toward whichever party supports big government (i.e. Labor/Greens) but I'm able to separate facts from opinion. That said, of course the ABC aren't reporting equally on all sides. They never have a bad word to say about Labor or Greens - you'd think they never do or say anything wrong. If you had a persecution complex you could say the ABC have launched a 'relentless and negative' attack on Tony Abbott.

I suppose ABC staffers would say they're just trying to provide some 'balance'. Really, they're all hypocrites. They're just selling entertainment and confirmation to their target audiences.

Every paper has to take a side-If they just sat on the fence you wouldnt bother reading it.
Am i the only one who has ever thought why is the paper writing about negative things in general? Someone dying-Country beeing ruined-House beeing burnt down. Sure its news but a lot of good things happen everyday that are out of the ordinary that dont get much of a mention.
Or do people like to read about negative things so they have something to wynge about?
I stopped watching the news and reading the paper cause of this reason.Well i do catch the sports and keep an eye on the stock market.
