Looked fine walking off at half-time and in the sheds

Was just at the Cowboys-Roosters trial.

Kalyn Ponga is going to be amazing. I'm almost certain he'll be referred to as an all-time great within 10 years.

His combination of speed, footwork, instinct and ball skills is just ridiculous. Like a cross between RTS and Matt Moylan.

You guys struck gold and signed him up to a bargain I reckon. I sincerely hope he leads you guys to some success.

Thanks Tommy. What position did he play? Coote was named as well I noticed.

Played about 20 minutes on the wing and then the whole 2nd half at fullback. He did drop a bomb, but apart from that looked very good.

Well I can't give too accurate an assessment because they crammed 1000s of us into that tiny stadium in Mackay like bloody sardines lol

But it appeared to me that he played fullback in the second half as he was on the end of all the sweeping backline plays in attack. He probably had more game time than Coote as both teams rotated through a big squad.

But I was close to the pitch and up close and personal you can see Ponga is something special. Every time he touched the ball he was dangerous. Not only is he super quick with amazing footwork but his hands are quick too. He looked so composed with ball in hand, linking up with his outside men.

Every now and then you see a young player up close and just 'know'.

Just seeing the speed at which he plays and the way he busted tackles and had our defenders in two minds whenever he had the ball... it's just obvious that he's going to be super special.

The more and more he improves the less and less likely we will get an early release. Cowboys won't release him in that kind of form when they are title contenders.

I think your dreaming at this point if you think they have any intention of releasing him. In fact I believe they may be looking to keep him there this season, in the hopes of retaining him there long term.

First team i saw KP he was 17 walking out with the senior squad to play a trial match-he had a special aura about him.
That day he ran at men like he thought he had the body of Taumololo-kids got no fear.

You guys are so lucky to have him, he will transform your club.

Just enjoy him when he comes-most Cowboys fans dogged him out from first day came to the club.

Cowboys wont release him, in case Coote etc get injured...main reason hes going to your club-knew he'd only get opportunity thru injury at Cowboys-cant expect a player of his calibre to wait under those circumstances.

Won't happen.
