There was a discussion before you trolled in and hi-jacked the thread. I'll give you benefit of hindsight, and assume you've picked up my meaning.

Well, the statement is what you'd expect from someone like that - parochial and misleading (talking about the Member - Organ not bigsteel).

In fact WIN has had so much help it's a laughing stock amongst governments (local and state), selling land to fund projects that they didn't get approval for, and which weren't even on their land... having to exhume bodies and awarding leases without due tender process (ICAC stuff but just got away with letters of explanation pointing out how stupid they'd been).

They've also been bailed out financially twice and still can't turn a profit.  :x

Anyway, their proposals for the western stand are technically illegal and wouldn't progress unless there are specific legislative changes. The proposals for Jubille are at least legal and warranted.

This is was what I wanted to reply to Goz.

If possible, can you elaborate regarding this last paragraph?

When did we all age and become 50?

I think its fair to say you dont realise the need for the money at 'Kogarah Field' because you are one of the fans who dont bother going.

Its still your team and your teams home ground, you should be happy that it is being looked at for a decent upgrade.

Look past the smoke stacks dipshit.

Bull-shit I went to all the games at Oki this year and I do know the ground needs the $Cash$.
I was there for the fumble by Barrett round 1, Sat in the grand stand on the 40M line against the Tigers Bloody tops spot.!! On the Hill for the Sharks game and Sat in the rain to watch the come back of all time. What about you "FANS" ever come to "WIN".

The problem is you guys is that you don't know when someone is joking around..!!

Ahh that old chestnut.

You say something stupid, get hammered for it and fall back on the old I was only joking around line.

Nice one but no cigar.

Yes KO needs work, about 8 mil worth and the benefits are for both sides of the merger, including the people of the Illawarra. Or at least those that choose to travel.

If you want to joke on that level
keep it to the look in the mirror,
leave people to themselves and
you'll eventually get the message from yourself when you don't like it.

Se you at WIN next year, under the windsock.

No the problem is that you're a common troll and a pest.
If this was a public bar, we'd have thrown you into the bistro by now.

I'm just suprised that there is a greens MP who's a) a vocal Steelers fan b) having a go at Labour. What a dickhead, much as I'd like to see more money given to WIN as I do get up there every now and again, I wouldn't think you'd actually achieve anything by trying to badmouth Kogarah.

I liked having Michael Organ as an MP, he seemed to be actually doing something rather than the labour people who do f**k all cos they know its a safe seat. But he's wrong here. Why i personally dislike the St George Illawarra merger cos of my liking of the Steelers and resent not having 12 games a year at Win, the ground at the moment is fine and doesnt need an upgrade. Kograh however does need an upgrade (first n foremost lighting) n it'd be stupid to give win money as well at the moment.
On the ground issue, i think it should be 6/5 to Win with the other home game alternating each year between the Anzac day Roosters match and the SCG Souths match(eg one year Anzac day is a home match, SCG match is Souths home game, vice versa the next).

It's fairly divisive. I've got no problems with league being played in Wollongong and as it stands, I accept the 50/50 as it was agreed. But we're not getting that.

This Organ fella seems to think that he can re-write the facts according to his own agenda, while his cheer squad attempt to ridicule those who point out the errors.

Can anyone confirm what happened in Cunningham? According to the ABC site, it's predicted as an ALP gain.

Sharon Bird won it for Labour, Lathem was down here yesterday. Sharon bird seems like she would be all right, but Organ didnt have a chance. Organ was good tho.

"Here we have the ALP at its worst, Latham promises $8 million to upgrade the Illawarra Dragons ground at Kogarah and then throws the Wollongong ground a few crumbs and expects us to cheer," Michael Organ said.
The Northern Stand a few crumbs?
All I have to say about this Michael Orgasm is that he is a f*cking hypocrite (especially when he said it will take games away from WIN). :x
Willow has pretty much summed up my feelings above.

According to various news services, Sharon Bird was appointed by head office and this was thought to have backfired when Michael Organ won the by-election in Cunningham about two years ago. He was the first member of a minor party to win a seat in the lower house since World War II.

Sharon Bird seems to have turned it around though.

The search engines don't provide anything in regards to her opnion on sporting and recreation.

Her biography says very little:
Biography
Sharon Bird's family has lived in the Illawarra for four generations and Sharon is raising her family there.

Sharon worked at Wollongong TAFE for six years teaching local students. She is active in her local community as a volunteer with Meals on Wheels.

She wants local families to get a better deal and is focussed on fighting for better health and education funding from the federal Government. She has been working closely with Labor's federal shadow ministry to develop plans for local infrastructure and job projects, as well as protecting the unique environment of the Illawarra.

A Green, Expanding a stadium ... bullshit, some obscure frog, breeding in a drain would put an end to that.

Settle down people.

He wasn't saying that Kogarah doesn't deserve the money, he just missed the point that Labor is committed to an ongoing investment in WIN Stadium as well.

Labor's pledge of over a $100,000 for a feasability study shows that (when they win in 2007) they will be playing a big role in the Western Grandstand/shops/hotel, development.

Even though I'm a member of the Labor party, and not in that seat, he did ok. He had the interests of his electorate and region first, and no-one anywhere would accept anything less from their MP.

Anyway, he's out now.

And the northern grandstand - $4mil from the Carr Govt. The rest was from private investors. He just wanted to see the Federal Party recognise the region, especially when it's the only major sporting stadium on the South Coast. Organ was off the mark, as I explained above. But in a broader sense, there's nothing criminal in what he said.
