The art of politics and getting it wrong

Mate that WIN Trust has been bailed out before. The money for the stand came from sale of Brandon park, and the Govt.
If there was any private money, let me know who and how much.
The WIN trust is still on the teat and has been forever.
Besides, they'll have to change the law to allow the west stand proposal.

Settle down people.

He wasn't saying that Kogarah doesn't deserve the money, he just missed the point that Labor is committed to an ongoing investment in WIN Stadium as well.
He certainly did miss the point... and his seat.
But I think you're apologisng for him when you say he wasn't against Kogarah getting the money.

The Organ said: "The $8 million dollar promise to the Kogarah field [sic] can only take business and jobs and possibly even Dragons games away from WIN stadium and that's three point sell out."

Sounds to me like he wasn't too fond of the idea.

There's no suggestion that the Organ said anything "criminal". But he spout a load of divisive nonsense just before the voting started. Perhaps he was desperate.

Who and how much?
Half from the govt, other half from mostly WIN Corporation and some others.

Bailed out? You're kidding.
The Wollongong Sports Ground Trust's sale of Brandon Park was good but not a desperate move by any means. It was silly to have two stadiums operating, but there were no worries, they just wanted one big one instead of two smaller ones.

The Western Grandstand Development will include Hotel Rooms as well as shops, turning the Stadium into a fully operational money making machine 365 days a year. That's why Federal Labor will be involved when elected...in 2007 :-(.

He was against Kogarah getting $8mil and Wollongong getting nothing. But of course, as I said, that's wrong because federal Labor were going to play a major role in WIN's Western Grandstand development.

This whole thread is way over the top.

FMD Man of Steel, we all cut to relevant pieces to save time but please don't cut my quote to suit your response.

I also pointed out what the Organ said:
"The $8 million dollar promise to the Kogarah field [sic] can only take business and jobs and possibly even Dragons games away from WIN stadium and that's three point sell out."

He CLEARLY is opposed to Kogarah in more ways than one.

As for opinion that this thread is 'way over the top', that's your view and you're entitled to it.
But in my opinion, you don't like reading about some deperate 'Illawarra Dragons' pollie spouting nonsense. If he won the seat, then you'd know what 'over the top' can be.

As far I'm concerned, we were fortunate to come across this little snippet from the Organ.

On a side issue, it's not my place to speak for other members, but I urge you pay some positive attention to Gorilla's post. He knows more about this than you and I put together.

"The $8 million dollar promise to the Kogarah field [sic] can only take business and jobs and possibly even Dragons games away from WIN stadium and that's three point sell out." <--- [in the belief that Federal Labor would give $8mil to Kogarah and nothing to Wollongong, which is of course is incorrect].

Of course he'd be opposed to it, as would I, if the federal party didn't look after Wollongong as well. But as I said, Labor pledged to play a major role in the Western stand at WIN, hence the feasability study to work out how much they can contribute.

I like your optimism Man Of Steel but its going to take more than one term for Labor to recover from the hammering it copped last Saturday. It's more like 2010 when we'll next see a Labor PM.

I think "Movie World" is getting a bit to emotional over something that doesn't involve him Living on the Gold Coast
relaxing and living out his twilight years.
Plus Organ didn't get in so stop crying and act your age,
What is 50+..???? \\:D/

Gong - check the text from SD, it's pathetic and juvenile abuse. Not like it’s funny just persistant, like warts.
Wouldn't be a problem if he/she was gone.

Now, Man of Steel, I'm unaware of your knowledge about the WIN trust but I have been aware of ten years of State Government budgeting and trust fginances and they have been bailed out at tleast three times to the tune of millions.

It's not a problems, lots of regional centres get money chucked at them for one reason or another but make it clear, the turst has a dodgy past and poor performance.
