The Ashes

I thought he mustn’t be fit.

Surely he’s 1 of the first bowlers picked.

He’s fit Cardy.

Pattinson got rested and Starc and Hazelwood got brought in.

Starc pushing the drinks trolley.
We didn’t bowl well that session & it was a bad decision to bowl as the pitch is lifeless, albeit you’d think it would be lively after being under the covers all day yesterday.

The dropped catch was huge in that session Cardy.

England could have been 3/40.

Could prove to be very costly I’m afraid.

Smith is such a hard f**ker to get out which is even more amazing with his style, it’s so unorthodox.

The way he carries on after he lets the ball go is comical.

I think what makes him so good is he analyses every ball he faces & puts it in the back of his mind so that next time he gets the same ball, he knows exactly how to play it.

Gotta get him early before the memory bank builds up.

We’d be f**ked without him!!

He is a brave player.

To come back out after the arm knock & then the Phil Hughes-like neck blow is amazing.

Bloody lucky he didn’t suffer a serious injury or heaven forbid, worse!

This X 100.

For Smith to come back out after all that and battle on in obvious pain and discomfort was very inspiring and brave.

Booing him as he came back on the field was about as pathetic as it gets.

But there are a lot of peanut brains in this world.

Smith is so hard to get out and I reckon the way he fidgets and walks around the crease has a lot to do with it.

His batting style is so awkward the bowlers don’t know where to bowl to him.

Aussies under the pump with Archer’s extreme pace & then spin out of the rough at the other end.

Lucky they are able to bring Labuschagne in for the concussed Smith, he looks easily the most composed batsman.

I’ve never seen that before in all my years of watching cricket.

Bowling first has been a bad decision since the first few overs. It should be us applying the final day pressure, with Lyon.

Yeh.

He needs to show some respect.

The ball that hit smith killed a man not that long ago. Nothing wrong with the bouncer, it was an accident but you’d think he’d lie low for a while with that shit!

Bloody rain!

Then Labuschagne going great, cops 1 flush in the nuts off Broad.
