Remember when Paul Kent said to Mike Gibson he wont come back on the show if they keep having the Champs of the week as golfers.

The best were between Frilingros and FitzSimons and before that Jeff Wells. All News Ltd/Fairfax tools with massive egos but made for an entertaining half hour. Predominately league with a bit of fluff sports in the last 5 minutes AFL, Motorsport etc

Haven't seen the show in 10 years, let me guess, Tracy Holmes is host.

I never watch this show but seeing it came up at lunch in the cricket happened to notice not one rugby league panelist the week the NRL kicks off.

I watched it last night,and all I remember is that nasally voiced bird Kelli Underwood,talking about Leyton Hewitt retiring,then sprouting"He absolutely loves AFL."

She banged on about the NRL not banning SKD which is fair enough,but ignored the fact the White Ribbon Group backed the NRL stance.

This same bird when the talk was about Cameron Smith a few months ago sprouted" he is an absolutely mad Hawk's fan goes to as many of their games as possible."

Sheesh these AFL types are bleeding insecure,as if the viewers give a stuff as to what a sportsperson's other sporting interests are ,.especially monotonously mentioning AFL.

She is an AFL plant I'm convinced.

The Back Page mob spend their time trying to outdo each other either on trying to be funny,or promoting AFL.Hooper appears to be a necessary rl journo and he is pathetic at best.

Craddock called Squires out a couple of weeks back about his Adam Goodes obsession, that was pretty funny. Squires does come up with some funny lines now and then, but there seems to be a danger of the show going down the Footy Show path and re-hashing a lot of stuff they've shown before.

James Hooper is almost unbearable these days (on any show, not just the Back Page). Ryan Fitzgerald's strike rate for funny comments is getting lower and lower every time he's on.

The panellists I enjoy most on that show are probably Bosnich and Julian Shiller (sp?). Fleming and Girdler go OK too but they hardly seem to get a gig very often.

I remember when Squires hosted The Fat on the ABC back in the day. That show started off pretty good but I deadset had to stop watching because of Rebecca Wilson. About 6 months in, I just couldn't handle her anymore. Kelli Underwood goes alright in comparison.

She's from South Australia, and is big AFL fan. She was the first female to call an AFL game (which also makes her the only one!) when channel 10 used to be the FTA AFL broadcaster. So yeah, you're not going to get much out of her in terms of anti-AFL comment...

It went down the S bend when the new crew took over. Absolute effing dribble.

Squires is a Swan's ambassador.He is much more AFL inclined now than his prior rl days.
Underwood AFL mad.Craddock whilst rl inclined also cricket and has a decent AFL interest.Fitzgerald an AFL man.Hooper a WAP rl journo who rarely sticks up for the code.



Last night as a case in point Hooper stated' I believe the SKD situation has to take its proper course ,that is innocent until proven guilty".
Squires mentioned the White Ribbon Organisation agreeing with the way the NRL handled the situation.

Then after Underwood stated SKD should be stood down by the NRL immediately and the NRL should show leadership. and Mike Baird did the right thing by speaking out
Hooper then waters down his view by stating I can see where Kelli is coming from.Backing away from his original view.

The amount of praise re AFL last night was cringeworthy.If there is supposedly balance,it sure as hell didn't shine through.

I watched it just before Origin 1 and it was pretty heavily dominated by Origin talk, even Kelli Underwood was pretending she loves Origin. It's nowhere near as AFL biased as Offsiders.

It's a terrible show but it usually is heavily centered on the NRL first and foremost unless there is a massive story going on in another sport.

Especially when you compare it to the Offsiders.

I loved it last night when they were giving it to the AFL fans about Goodes, Robert Craddock said that there'd be no way it would ever happen in rugby league. Surprised, but i laughed my ass off. He'll probably never get asked back.
