Yeah it was quite debilitating. Being unable to walk more than five metres without sitting down, pissing dark orange, shitting a pale tan colour and eating a miniscule meal every three or four days is not good.
On the medical side of things, I had a fluid buildup in the peritoneal cavity (abdomen) where blood vessels in the liver leak, resulting in the extraction of 10.1 kg and 6.4 kg of fluid in the space of two weeks.
My weight went down from the mid 80 kg to 67 kg, blood pressure dropped to 90/60 and body temperature was 1.5 to 2.5 degrees below normal.
The number of tests was endless. CT scans, MRIs, gastroscopies, ultrasounds, blood tests (full blood evaluation, liver function, international normalised ratio and a whole bunch of others) and so on. A liver biopsy is next.
Thankfully the specialists, doctors and nursing staff were impeccable in their service delivery.
