I think that game has given Farah some new respect , he give it to watts in the get square ..quality stuff. If the ref had given Watts 10 in the bin first up like he should have it wouldnt have been a problem.

The only problem with saying that this kind of activity is "OK" is that sooner or later, a coach will give a player the instruction to "engage" a team's chief playmaker until he's knocked senseless. And because there's a precedent of minimal action - what's going to happen? A benchie gets 10 minutes, and a side's General sits down (or gets carried off) along with him.
The coach's job is to stretch every rule to their team's possible advantage, so sending out a guy who can handle himself - against a Lockyer, Thurston, Soward will make more sense if there are minimal consequences. Especially come Semi-final time.
I think that was the plan to a certain extent by the Cowboys today. Farah had a perception of not being physical and if they put it on him he might go into his shell. What followed showed that Farah is tougher then everyone thought and the plan backfired big time.
It might not have been pre-concieved but that's the way it looked.

in all honesty I don't think it would have been preconceived, Watts is probably that last person you want throwing punches to try and put a player off. Heat of the moment stuff, which happens time to time, thank chr!st it's not the AFL and both players being reported and then facing lengthy stints on the sideline over a blue on the field.

Yeah, and I doubt the coaches would purposely risk suspension to our only decent option left for the hooker spot.

“The first scrum, he hit me, I don't know why, I didn't do anything to him, it was a bit of a king hit,” Farah said.

“The refs did nothing about it. I wanted a bit of a square up.

“The second scrum, the ref told me to keep it short and sweet and it was.”

Watts, who set up the Cowboys' opening try, said he recalled being struck by an elbow.

“I'm not sure if it was Robbie, but it came towards me and I just reacted,” Watts said.

Asked what happened at the second scrum, Watts replied: “I don't know if it was Robbie or not because there was a fair few of them hitting me.”

LOL Watts you lying grub. Only one person hit you in that second scrum and he belted the sh*t out of you!

f#$king please, Farrah elbowed him in the face in the 1st scrum and was well and truly facing Watts when he threw them, and accordingly went down like a sack of $hit.

I watched the replays and you can't tell who if anyone elbows him. when he talked to the press even watts said he doesn't know who it was and if it was intentional. he just said he felt an elbow.

although that was a nice story. this has obviously filled you with rage.

Watts thought Farah elbowed him, read the other articles you f#$king moron.

Watts confirmed he had been hit by an elbow and he thought it was foul play.

"I took exception to it and then the next scrum a fair few of them hit me," he said. "It's part of footy and what happens on the field stays there."

each paper is going to put it's taint on the story depending on which area it is from, to show that team in a more "golden light", so all the NSW based media are going to paint Farah as the victim, you are a clown if you think other wise.

you honestly think Watts would have reacted like that if nothing had happened???
