€80 million per season for Ibrahimovic at PSG
I'll explain:
Basically Ibra wants around €14m/season after tax. Not an unreasonable amount given his status BUT France has recently elected a Socialist government that will incredibly tax those who earn over €1m at a rate of 75%! Along with a few other taxes, that €80m boils down to roughly €14m after tax. The Qatari owners of PSG have said that they are more than happy to pay the taxes of their big name players.
So is this the biggest wage ever in the history of sport? In terms of football, I know Eto'o is currently on about $20m but Russia's tax rate for foreigners is about 15%. Drogba's getting $25m at Shanghai but again that's pre-tax.
