If referees look for the simplest reason to blow their whistles like lost balls that aren't why should we expect the Bunker to not look for things inconsequential

I look forward to your explanation of why the Austin try was not a try.

Whole body ended in the in goal, defenders knocked him further, etc etc etc

The reason Austin's wasn't a try is the bunker denied the Broncos a try in similar circumstances & the interpretation should be consistent & also, it went up as no-try.

What did the bunker see that was so obvious to over-turn the decision?

In my opinion, it was a try, like the Broncos 1. The bunker has no feel for the game!

I think the Bunker decisions take way too long, and in a close game, just sucks the life out of the game, and has people at the game, and viewers waiting a long time for the decision.

Plus they seem to nitpick every part of the tree to the nth degree, as if looking for something to take away the try. One example, was i believe a Bronocos player being denied a try, when he swung himself over the line. It wasnt double movement as the defenders for all purposes helped him over the line.

If they do get a bunker then they shouldnt take so darn long to make a decision.

I have an idea, keep the bunker. But it can only be accessed a total of six times, 3 for each team. The referee would have to make all decisions, but the Captain could challenge the call and go to the bunker.

That would make the game more free flowing, get rid of artificial breaks, stop the game from losing atmosphere, and get rid of ref howlers.

The bunker is useful for people who don't understand sport. It placates them and and while it frustrates other people they will stay regardless . Remove the false tension and you lose the casual watchers.

the captains challenge is a good idea.
People on the field are the last people to give a challenge to. A dispassionate observer with instant replay available could work. Limited challenges tied to interchange numbers might work.

Do you believe you get that from the bunker?

You are suggesting that on field officiating is sloppy. Why do you think that is? Do you think stopping the play so some people miles away can watch parts of the game on tv is acceptable?

Imagine if the door to the bunker got jammed and Bernie Sutton ended up eating the other officials to survive. He wouldn't do it straight away, of course - in fact, he'd probably be the one saying, "Guys... guys! We need to relax and NOT eat each other!" But he'd be sitting there in his comfortable chair, working out who he'd eat first and how he would prepare his meal. I'd give him about 12 hours before he'd be getting stuck into Bryan Norrie, slathering him in tomato sauce squeezed from a bottle stashed in his desk for such an occasion.

For this reason, I don't want the bunker to go anywhere.

Unlimited challenges for tries to use the bunker; on-field refs make the call otherwise with in-goal touchies.

Catch is if a captain or coach's challenge is proven to be to wrong, an interchange is lost. If all interchanges are used up, a man is taken off the field (captain's choice).

They were making a effort in making the decisions fast at the start of the season but they kept f**king up and felt some early heat, hence its slowed a lot since then.

I'd give each coach a 90 second time out per half and one 'captains call review' per half. If the review is successful you retain it, if it is unsuccessful you lose it and it costs you your time out.

The trade off for the time outs is I would forbid trainers going on the paddock and I would get rid of the video ref and make the ref make a decision on the field.
