I hadn't thought much of F4 based on what I've read, but based on that trailer it might turn out decent

Yeah must say it looks pretty good, however I'm not a fan of the casting (based on looks alone, not acting).

How many reboots and sequels is it now per franchise, I can't keep up.

When absolute garbage like Transformers 4 makes as much money as it did it doesn't bode well for the quality of these films anymore.

Looks more like a sci-fi movie than a comic book film, and that might actually work well if done right

Yeah must say it looks pretty good, however I'm not a fan of the casting (based on looks alone, not acting).

A black Human Torch being the obvious one, given he's meant to be the brother of the Invisible woman, but I'm not too fussed. Michael B. Jordan (a very necessary middle initial) look like he'll have a big couple of years ahead of him, with F4 and it's sequel as well as being cast as Apollo Creeds grandson in the new Rocky spinoff, but he'll always be Wallace from the Wire to me.

Actually, I don't mind about Jordan (if thats they way they want to go and have adoption or whatever) I'ts more that they're so young and Mr Fantastic looks nothing like I would imagine him.

The main cast are all very good actors.
I was a bit iffy on Miles Teller, but after having seen Whiplash I've got no worries about him anymore.

As long as they get it right, I don't care how many they make.
The previous ones were dreadful, so I'm happy they are trying again.

How young do you think they are?
Not sure how old the characters are, but the actors are around the 28-31 range. Not exactly teenagers.
In the Ultimates version of the comics they were around that age.

Do we really need another Fan4 movie?

Ffs - I wanna see Superman get killed by Doomsday!

Do we NEED a F4 movie - probably not. But comic-book movies are the big thing right now and Fox only has 2 properties to use, so may as well try again.

Besides...Doomsday is coming. I'm sure of it. Don't know when, but I'm sure it'll happen.

doomsday maybe close than you think

God, I hope so - I'd love to see Superman beaten to a pulp. :D

Oh, yeah - I can't stand Superman lol.

Seriously, though - Doomsday would be perfect in this day and age of digital effects. He's already a menacing, super bad-ass, invincible mofo - all we need is a good script and the movie is done. I'd watch it.

There's no fun, imo, in a hero who is almost invincible (like Supes). Sure, he has his moral code and he's an ethical man - but only magic and certain kryptonite can do him harm, and that's boring.

But bring Doomsday into the fold, and you suddenly have a Superman movie where even Superman haters like myself will be rooting for the Man Of Steel...

I'd just rather they made a different film.

How about a Luke Cage film? Or (it will never happen) a film about Moon Knight?

Fox don't own the rights to Luke Cage, they only have F4 and X-Men and anything and everything mutant (which appears to be shrinking by the day with Marvel pushing the inhumans hard). Luke Cage will make his debut in the Jessica Jones Netflix series, and will have his own series after that. It's not beyond the realms of comprehension that he could turn up in a movie one day, but he'll make his debut on the small screen.

Fair enough.

It's just that we already had a Fan4 flick.

We also already had a batman, superman, Spider-Man, xmen, terminator, robocop etc etc etc. flick.

It's a cycle. Hollywood invest stupid amounts of money in these franchises, then the second one of them bombs or is so old that no-one in the latest generation has seen it, they salt the earth and start over

Yep. And I'm fine with that.

Superman is my favourite superhero. Has been since I was a kid.
I never get when people say he's boring. I always find him interesting. Whenever I'm watching one of the DC animated TV shows or movies, or reading Justice League comics all I'm saying is "When's Supes going to turn up?"
There are enough villains in the DC universe that are strong enough to take on Superman.

That's true.

I guess I was hoping they'd try something new.

I meant no offense.

I just find that a guy who can do ANYTHING and has basically no weaknesses is a bit boring.

There are enough villains to take him in, but not enough to kill him, so his only real threat is Doomsday.

I'm one of those boring people - my three favourite heroes are Batman, Spiderman and a tie between Thor and Aquaman.

I know, I know - Thor is Marvel's Superman, right?

Well, yes - but he has clear weaknesses.

Superman is just too...perfect. How can I take any threat to him seriously when he's so difficult to hurt?

This is why I'm desperate for a Doomsday film. Doomsday will give people aapathetic towards Supes a reason to cheer for him.

I'm with Eelementary.

Superman has always been too all powerful, so the Kryptonite becomes very cliche.
