I don't think there was a need for Doomsday or anyone else in this movie. Lex perhaps, but that's all.

In saying that, a super hero movie needs to have conflict (especially with 'vs' in the title) and finding conflict for Superman is difficult. Like really, Batman and Lex aren't going to offer any real physical conflict for Superman.

I am getting the feeling that Fred is a bit of a wanker though

Typical Marvel fan boi with no idea

Cool story bro. It's no secret that I prefer Marvel. However I appreciate good movies, no matter who makes them. I, like most people, enjoyed Nolans Batman trilogy, as well as Burtons Batman movies. I hated Man of Steel, and feel like DC are trying to rush things by introducing too many characters into the one movie.

But hey, that's just one wankers opinion

DC is clearly approaching things differently to Marvel

You could view it as being desperate or you could view it as them cutting their own path. Personally i like the fact that Superman was the first to openly go public with his powers and its become the catalyst for others to step into the public eye more, even if its just to confront him.

Tough to judge before the fact, even if you didnt like MOS. I personally loved it for the reasons most didnt. It painted Superman as flawed and doubtful, even a little bit dark

I'm very DC inclined and Superman is my favourite hero ever.

But this Superman is not Superman. People that criticise these movies and DC's direction have to take some blame for that. Here's my reasoning, keeping it short.

We had a traditional Superman, one not so dark and gloomy. Superman Returns. I thought that was very true to the original movies and the true essence of Superman. He wasn't brooding, Metropolis wasn't half destroyed, he was pure hearted. It was what Superman was supposed to be. And how did pretty much everyone react? Oh that's right, it was boring. He was bland and boring.

Well here you are you f**kers. You don't like the Reeves/Routh versions of Superman any more? Well here, try Man of Steel. We'll load it with a shit tonne of explosions, CGI and some darkness as it worked in the Dark Knight series.

f**k people, f**k Hollywood, and f**k DC/Warner Bros for not having the balls to stick to your ideas and giving in to what stupid people want.

Well tbh, Superman is a pretty bland and boring character to bring to the big screen. Much like Captain America

If they dont ground him and give it a bit of grit then its not gonna work in a 2 hour movie.

I liked Routh's Superman, Spacey was too hammy as Lex and I just couldn't unsee Ian Roberts.

Actually, I've read that the main villain is

Darkseid
, and there's something in the most recent trailer that supports this.

But I wouldn't be surprised if that's just as a teaser to the Justice League movie.

um

I don't know much about DCU however, reading online...some ppl are suggesting that this image (apparently from the trailer) may be a hint that we'll see Darkseid...

I don't know anything about the character really but from what I've seen on this movie it looks like will be good.

I hope for when he's saying what he looks like they keep the topographical map of Utah joke in, that was hilarious.

Deadpool's such a funny badass character, his comic awareness power is his greatest.

As someone who doesn't read comic books civil war is easily the most anticipated comic book movie of the year. Deadpool seems more like a comic book movie for comic book readers, batman has been done to death and frankly the nolan batman movies are big shoes to fill. Superman is so boring, he's like the vanilla ice cream of super heroes and the movie looks dark and grim (so overdone in the aftermath of batman begins, man of steel was so depressing) plus we know that they team up by the end of the movie. Marvel movies are more accessible for the masses, people actually cheer on the superheroes so they manage to make popular movies despite having weak villians, ironman is now as popular as batman and they've even managed to have a superhero named captain america popular worldwide in this day and age (seriously that's pretty remarkable). An ironman vs captain America fight looks to be more exciting then a batman vs superman fight, nobody would of said that 10 years ago (in fact i had no idea who ironman was 10 years ago)

He definitely looks the part. Im looking forward to this movie because it's going to be something that hasn't been seen in the MCU before, exploring the magic realm and using time travel. Lots of speculation that the time infinity stone could be inside his medallion too.

If his medallion does end up being one of the infinity stones, he gets to join the line with Vision in guys who are likely going to get a visit from Thanos in Infinity War.

The Collector and Xandar too, being in possession of the aether and power stone respectively. Vision would have to be on borrowed time. Don't see any way he could survive Thanos taking the stone from his head.

Deadpool looks the shit, hopefully it doesnt hold back...at all.

Loved the Civil War trailer, emptied a load when we got a glimpse of T'Challa. I think the focus on Bucky is a red herring . Imo its been edited to imply the war starts over him, I doubt that its true at all.

Agree with the criticisms of Batman Vs Superman trailer. Might as well re-name it Batman and Superman. Any scenes of tension in the trailer were ruined by unneccesary interuptions.

Vision has been rebuilt a few times.

I'm wondering if they're cooking up a Vision & Scarlett Witch movie.
