The Collector and Xandar too, being in possession of the aether and power stone respectively. Vision would have to be on borrowed time. Don't see any way he could survive Thanos taking the stone from his head.

did you read that on wikipedia?

Agree with the criticisms of Batman Vs Superman trailer. Might as well re-name it Batman and Superman. Any scenes of tension in the trailer were ruined by unneccesary interuptions.

Yeah the preview doesn't sell it too well. I've seen it in the cinemas a few times now and there's something about the end scene with Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman that looks a bit cheesy.

If you find Superman a bland, boring character then that's fine.
But for me he is more than just a guy who can punch things and fly. He is an alien raised as a man. He is the last of his kind. He lives in a world where he needs to hold back or else he will just destroy everything.

He needs to be the good guy. If not, the world will perish. His moral compass is what really makes hum super - not his powers (well ok, the powers do as well).

He has to live a completely different life in order to protect the people he cares about. I know this is a basic trait for most superheros, but that doesn't make it any less interesting.

But most of all, he has all the power in the world...but he can't save everyone. He can hear someone dying miles away, but if he can't get to them then he has to deal with that. Imagine being the guy who has to pick and choose who to save that day...or even worse, who not to save. That is what makes him interesting.

And plus his powers are really cool. :D

As someone who openly cannot stand Superman, that was well said.

He's stil way too overpowered, though.

And yet he still fails. Despite all his power, everything he stands for, there's still so much struggle in his story. It's just that that story cannot be easily translated to film in such such a way that people go, wow to.

There's so many ways for people to admire and relate to the stories/struggles of Superman, people just refuse to accept it.

It's a love story, it's the same story as Moses from the bible, it's about an immigrant going to a foreign land, it's about someone having to hide something about himself, it's about pretending to be someone else, it's about learning to differentiate between right and wrong, it's about how to deal with helplessness, etc etc etc.

But no, because he always comes out on top in his physical battles, he's boring. (que the hate)

Btw I fully subscribe to the theory the defenders will be appearing in Avengers infinity war, cleaning up the chitauri at ground level.

That's all well and good, but he is still overpowered.

The first and only being to kill him? Doomsday.

His only genuine weaknesses? Magic and kryptonite.

I'm not a fan of Superman, but it's mainly because...why should I care? He's an invincible being who could crush the world if he wanted to.

Other superheroes have genuine weaknesses.

I don't care about the subtext - how am I supposed to feel sympathy for Superman when he's invincible? He's never in serious danger.

"Oh, look - Lex Luthor has some kryptonite! How ever will Superman save the day? Through super speed, super strength, lasers, ice breath, going super saiyan..."

Urgh...pass.

You could actually read my post and it's context. That might help. But you're clearly only going to be swayed or interested in external or physical conflicts. Of course, Superman has never had any of those..

Ask yourself, why is Superman the biggest and most recognisable superhero in the world?

You could try reading my original post, and while you're at it, you could learn the motherf**king difference between "its" and "it's", you dope. If you're going to be passive-aggressive, I'll just be openly hostile - gladly meeting you halfway.

And your second point is hugely debatable - Batman, for one, says hi.

I clearly said I don't give a damn about the stupid, outlandish comparisons to Moses - my complaint regarding Superman is he has no threat other than Doomsday, thus he's the John Cena of superheroes.

What superhero has any actual threat to them?
They always come out on top. They always win, barring a couple of instances.

Batman has never been killed. Is he too overpowered?

Batman is my fave - and yes. He's overpowered. How he managed to dodge the Omega Beams...

But you or I could walk up to him with a gun and blow his head off his shoulders, for example.

He has also had his back snapped in two by a more powerful being (as well as having been out-thought, which, for "The World's Greatest Detective", was a true kick in the nuts).

Not to mention the " Killing Joke" arc, where Batman, famed for his discipline and self-control, broke his number one rule, as he was broken by the Joker.

I wouldn't have minded if Superman had super strength and speed, but they added X-ray vision, ice breath, laser eyes...they gave him, IMO, too much power, and aside from emotional issues, not enough weaknesses. It then, in turn, made it difficult for me (and many others) to get behind him, because - well, nothing can stop him.

I get why people love Superman, but he's not for me. He's DC's Kakarot, except Kakarot died multiple times and was actually beatable.
