I found it really really boring when I saw it on Wednesday. Probably because they gave everything away in the trailers

Yeah I’m really interested to see what they cut out of the film.

Apparently they had extensive re-shoots and depending on who you listen to they changed 2/3rds of the film.

who knows how the original plan would have turned out but I know they completely cut Seth Rollins role out of the film… save for a Quick Look at his eyes behind a balaclava that I saw in the trailer.

Captain America 4:

Meh… felt abit like a Falcon and winter soldier episode but stitched together to make it movie length.

I mean I had a good time… but of the cap films I think this doesn’t hold a candle to the last 2.

I like Anthony Mackie as an actor and o like his portrayal of Falcon and don’t even mind him playing Cap… but they let him down with this story… they could have pushed the envelope far more IMO.

I also hate that they had Red Hulk in the promotional stuff…. Sure, any comic fan knows that Ross is red hulk… but it would have been good to see him for the first time on the big screen rather than in a trailer.

I gave it a 6/10
Funnily enough I'd give it the same rating as you but with far more positive comments.

I think it was mostly a good thriller, and weirdly for a Marvel film, it was too short.

I also made the mistake of going to a 3D version and I hate 3D, that's on me for being a dumbass who doesn't read the listings properly.

Unlike you it felt like a real movie to me managing to separate itself from the TV show to me.

The dialogue in this movie was terrible though. I think Chatgtp wrote the script, they should try Deepseek next time.

I don't watch trailers so didn't have any idea of the storyline so that wasn't spoilt for me.

Watched Captain America: Brave New World last night. IMO, Mackie has the carisma of a wet sock and while good as a support actor, just can't carry a film as the star. The offsider was annoying as hell as well and I was like "WTF" every time he called him bucky. Marvel really know how to take a great actor and put them into the most boring roles ever. They wasted Mads Mikkelsen in Dr Strange and Giancarlo Esposito's role could have been played by any faceless, nameless actor. Was barely on the screen and all his scenes had him looking weak and dumb. Oh and since when did the RUSSIAN widow program have Israeli operatives? Make it make sense ffs!

Ironheart - I’ve only seen the first 3 episodes but it’s shite to me.

just sick of these Marvel TV shows that are done that have loose connections to the MCU films.

Fantastic Four was pretty good. I thought each member was really good individually, but I wasn't entirely sold on their dynamic as a family.
Galactus was cool too. The movie had a very different vibe to other MCU movies, on account of the retro futuristic world.

It’s funny… I actually think the dynamic as a family was one of the best parts of it.

But I do agree with you on the vibe… I like the fact it was in its own reality so it wasn’t burdened yet with the rest of the MCU.

I actually think it hit the mark in all 3 main filmmaking area’s… in my opinion it had the best writing, visuals and the score since endgame. which I don’t think any apart from maybe Guardians 3 have even managed to hit the mark with all three of those.

I think coming off the back of what I thought was a good Thunderbolts hopefully it’s building into something special with Doomsday next.

Coming off Superman, Fantastic Four seemed average in comparison, it wasn't bad, but nothing to write home about, popcorn movie (I think a lot of after Avengers Marvel has been like that, and unlike most I have been fine with that). Felt really short for a Marvel movie which is kind of the opposite of usual.
