There's no way I'd pay him more than $200 grand.
IMO there are select few in the game who are seriously worth anything above that figure. The most any player should be on is about $300.

The Johns deal is just ludicrous, and hides the reality that these guys do not deserve to be on that sort of money, nor can clubs afford to pay it.

Peach is a legend, no argument from any quarter on that. But he is a legend in decline, and should be paid accordingly.

Peachey has been quoted as saying that if the Sharks don't give him a contract then he will probably just go home to Dubbo. He doesn't want to play for anyone else.

Pretty silly for Peach to say that. Now the club (some of whom don't want him retained) can offer him alot less to stay. I don't think he is worth less but if he is willing to put the same effort in for less money they would be stupid not to pay him less.
