Some of the recent and long past rookies of the year in both the competition as a whole and from the club - David Baysarri, Tasesa Lavea, Duncan De Celis, Chris Cranney, Karl Lovell, Andrew Mack....

Mick Delroy was the best reserve grade fullback ever.

just been thinking about this Gronk, Micky D moved to the dark culture of the Eastern Suburbs in 88 at the peak of his career and was the worst career decision he ever made, now given that you still live in the area I'd like to ask this question, do you remember anything about the 86 grand final after Andrew Farrer put you in disney land? and is there any truth to the rumour that Sangrael slipped a 20 in Farrers pocket to make sure it happened??? :D

The best lower grade footballer I ever saw, "by the length of the straight" was Glen Liddiard. Poor senior coaching then a move to Penrith and being caught up in the Ben Alexander tragedy was the end of him.
Ive always wondered how good that kid could have been if he would have come through when someone like Jack Gibson was in charge. I firmly believe Parramatta have produced many the equal of the Ellas and Sterlings and Kennys and Grothes only to have them not reach their potential due to the coaching at the time.
This kid had speed to burn and anticipation like Id not seen before. He could play anywhere in the backline but it was at fullback where he excelled. I recall him kicking a football over the Cronin Stand one day during a match while kicking for touch after a penalty. The kid could do anything.
I wonder where he ended up.

Fan since 1964
Gazzamatta

he should never have left us, his career was doing just fine and was playing some very good football before he walked out on us in the off season in 91.

Mick went to the Chooks because he had an established fullback ahead of him. F**k I hope that wasn't Scott Mahon.

Epic fail on your stab in the dark too. I didn't leave the West for the East until mid 1990.

you were...I mean Mick was our fullback that season, I'm sure of it, he signed a 3 year 70K deal with the chooks which back then was massive money for a guy who was just an average outside back..

Yeah he did go to the Chooks but the Stats on him say that he never played FG there.
