Skip,
Remember all the negatives the mungoes put out about sponsorship, tv rights etc when the SUPER 12 kicked off. All their opinions designed to hide their fears of the superior game succeeding with traditions reaching to heaven (the POPE played for POLAND and Bush played at UNI., in fact GOD is a Wallaby supporter. ) These poor unwashed have no understanding the reverence this game holds at the big end of town. I would be happy to sponsor a side in the national rugby comp and there are many like minded.
On a site where the average age of contributors is higher than the average mungoes IQ, it is hard to expect intelligent, let alone reasoned discussion.

You're a total goose.

So only rich people and private school kids play or enjoy rugby? A statement like that could only be made by a complete and total idiot.

Go to a club rugby game and ask around to find vout peoples backgrounds. You'll find it's fairly diverse.

Then again by your logic at least only intelligent people support Rugby so I can rest assured I'm in reputable company next time I go to a game.

Oh and by the way I live in Newcastle, I come from a working class background and just about everyone I know enjoys union as much as league.

Giday Mango,

Sorry, I missed this one yesterday.

I'm afraid I missed all the S12 starting and the Super League trouble, as I was already over here in England. Heard a bit through the media and others telling me that the RL mob was self-destructing over the SL thing, but that was about it.

One thing Union has never lacked, is money. The difference was in the Amateur days is that it was all well hidden from the taxman mainly. Always remember the top players having Sales Rep. jobs, big houses, and a one or two day working week. Good on them I say! Much better now though where they can actually command a proper wage without all the ducking and diving. :D

Was beginning to wonder about the average age of posters here, some seem to struggle with more than one or two lines! :D

...... leave then.

This site is a League site. The only reason there is a Union forum is that the the managers in their wisdom knew that a lot of the Kiwi League fans had a passing interest if not love of the great game of Rugby Union as well.

Therefore they set up the forum so people could talk about Union not put down the other code. It's unfortunete that the both of you are resorting to this like a certain few idiot League only supporters.

If you want to talk up Union fine. But be warned now if you continue put down the great game of Rugby League I am not even going to bother to split your posts from the thread I will simply delete them.

Mango, it is not worth my time to debate with a myopic clown such as you. All your posts have shown that you are not here to debate, nor converse about Union. Every post has the same old, juvenile and repetitive cliches such as "mungoes", or the higher-class Union player/supporter, that even Timbo, a person who obviously enjoys union, has tried to refute. Whilst some of the League supporters are also guilty of that, this after all is a League forum so its only to be expected.

My point in only quoting that particular sentence was reacting to your percieved notion that all union boys are the top echelon of society. If that was the case you could have chosen so many, why those two specifically?

So there is a question for your Mango, lets see if you can answer it.

Giday Te Kaha,

Is this directed at myself? Perhaps it would be better if you mentioned who it is directed at.

As this is the Union section, I don't see what your problem is.

Have I gone to any League threads and denounced the code there? No.

Have I had to put up with posters from the League threads putting down the "great game" of Union? Most definately!

Have you, Te Kaha, threatened any of these posters with the same threat that you have leveled at myself? NO!!

I think you would find, if you bothered to read through my posts in the short time that I have posted here, that the majority are thought out, reasoned posts. That don't deserve the seemingly biased discrimination that you are aiming at myself, whilst others have posted blatant inflammatory posts designed simply to get a rise.

May I remind you of your very first post to me........

I didn't think it was possible I was sure they didn't exist. But there you have it ladies and gentlemen..... In one post this pillick has proved the existince of the Sterotypical Union snob.

It is truly a sad day for all those who follow the game of Union on this forum.

First Mango and now this moron. WHERE WILL IT END??????

And this was in response to this...............my very first post here...........

Hi Joker.

Obviously this is a wind-up, but simply couldn't resist

To compare the last RLWC to the RWC is so ludicrous. The Lebanese team was full of Campsie boys out for a laugh, and not a serious proposition as a team. Remember seeing a programme on the telly over here (England) at the time about the Lebanese team, and they all had the strongest Aussie accents. The programme then went to Lebanon, yep, you guessed it, they'd never heard of the game, let alone who the hell the players were! The New Zealand Maori team was simply the reserve team for the Kiwi firsts. My point is, they were simply there to make up the numbers, in a competition that there was only ever going to be one winner. Australia! The poms haven't really competed against us for a long time now. Even the Kiwi's are only second rate, as Union is completely dominant in their country.

Rugby Union on the other hand has 94 countries registered with the IRB. None of these are made-up teams by the way. Admittedly, the greater majority of these are playing at amateur level. This is changing though. When you consider that the top countries have only turned Pro in the last 10 years or so, the profile on the world stage still eclipses anything that League has done. How many years now has League been Professional? And what exactly has it done to expand the game on a world-wide basis? A little embarrassing when you think of it in that light, isn't it?

Anyway, lets see if you can manage an intelligent come back.

Cheers, Skip.

Since that post, if you bothered to read the rest of the thread, you'd find that I backed up my comments with reasoned explainations. But of course, if you feel the need to delete my posts, then by all means carry on. But coming from someone who actually started a thread called "Lets bag the crap out of Union Thread" and then stick it to the top of the Forum!! Before you start, yes I have read it, but you are obviously not averse to telling people that they should pull their head in, so I think that this is what you should do instead of instigating a topic that is obviously odious.

So what's it to be Te Kaha? Will you delete this and carry on with your double standards. Or will you admit that you are wrong in this instance, and we can start again??

I await your answer eagerly.

Cheers, Skip.

Yes it was aimed at you as well as mango. since you managed to figure that out there was no need to state who it was for

It seems that the rest of the Union supporters on this site can talk about Union without putting down League. The only two who don't seem to be able to do this are are you and mango. I reiterate LEAGUE site. If you want to put down League go to a Union only board and do it.

Yes I have and I have deleted certain posts that have no value at all.

If you aren't mature enough to let the kiddies say there piece that's your problem. If you don't respond to them they get bored and leave.

You know the reason for it, so whats your problem with it? let the kiddies have their rant and leave the rest of the forum alone. Since the title is self evident you don't need to read it.

If you think its double standards thats your problem not mine.

But as its me on the power trip and there is not a lot you can do about it, you could simply stop posting on this site and you no longer have a problem.

By the way, I seem to remember you commenting in another thread about the Lebonese team, which would have seemed to back-up my own comment.

Care to explain?

I don't remember saying "The Lebanese team was full of Campsie boys out for a laugh, and not a serious proposition as a team" I am sure that every player who played was proud to represent that nation and was not "out for a laugh"

OK. I'll concede that it was perhaps a little provocative. But I can assure you it was said tongue firmly in cheek. Is that all that I've said to offend you? If so, your reaction is a little OTT isn't it?

Hit the nail on the head there!

Leave then, I'm pretty sure you won't be missed.

Now why would I want to give you that satisfaction? Tell me though, have you read any of my other posts? Or are you merely holding a petty grudge?
Oh no its a petty grudge aimed just at you. But really you should just leave.
