LOL & the Fan.
Seriously though, I'm am a bit of a joker at times, that's true, but this is a fairdinkum question.
Surely someone here must know Folkes. Just ask him.Moffo, Raging Bulldog, TimDog (or whoever you are now), someoneother?
Or better still, someone has to know someone else that went to Cabramatta High School in the mid 80's. Right?
I'll try and find another hint soon.
PS: Still cannot confirm (or deny)on the earlier suggestion that the individual played at another club. I can't find nothing to say he did or didn't,so I've given up. I guess someone like Willow or Lord Ted will tell us once the player's identity is revealed.
Whenever that maybe....

Not too fussed that he may have played at another club but the main clue is that he played the vast majority of his football with St George. Thats what I'm running with.

Now, if you'd be so kind.... was it in first grade and approximately when did he play?

FMD!!! Yeehaa...
You the MAN Willow!
Brian Johnson is correct. :)
Now tell us Willow, did he play anywhere else in Sydneyapart from the Dragons? I know he had a stint in England with Warrington as player and coach at one stage,(that's why I was carefull to say he never played with another club in Oz), but I'm pretty sure he never played with anyone else. Right? Also he never represented Australia. Right?
Almost 60 posts/guesses since the originalquestion. Tuff question huh?
Tigertread, you almost had it maybe two or three posts after I asked the originalquestion, with Brian Johnston. I had to check more than once at your answer and its spelling before saying it wasn't him. Was it a typo on your behalf, or did you actually mean to say Brian Johnson. "T" or no "T"?
Anyway...did you all have as much fun as I did? :p

LOL.. crikey... forget my previous post.

Offcourse, youre referring to Brian Johnson and not Brian Johnston who Tigertread made a guess of earlier. Brian Johnston with a T being a different player offcourse who played alongside Brian Johnson without the T.

Brian Johnson played almost 150 games with St George (1979-85) and 12 games with Easts (1986).

He played in the 1979 side that beat Canterbury in the Grand Final.

phew !

...oh yeah, and apparently Brian Johnson was also a PE teacher at Cabramatta High School... why that fact never made it into his player profile is beyond me... ;)

"...did you all have as much fun as I did? "
Yep lol... it was a rip snorter. :)

New question in a sec....

From the same era and somewhat easier than the previous question...

Name theNewtown junior who St George signed from Canterbury in the 1980s.

During his tenure as Prime Minister, Bob Hawke wrote the foreword for a book called "How to Play Rugby League".
The books author was a famous player.
Who is he?

P.S. My apologies for the belated question.

There was a book called How to Play Rugby League with Johnny Raper on the cover but this was written in 1964.

The authors of that book were E.E. Christensen, K.McCaffery and D.Brown - I'm guessing that it may be a new edition during Bob Hawke's time and maybe that E.E. Christensen had something to do with it.

E.E. Christensen?

Johnny Raper may well have authored and/or ghostwritten a book on "how to play rugby league",but I'm positive that Bob Hawke wasn't the prime minister during that time.
So you are looking for a player that became famous either; just prior, during or just after Hawkes tenure as P.M.
Hawke was P.M. from 83-91.
This person is still a famous footy identity.
