Your gonna b one of those old blokes that whinges about everything !
If your a magpie fan you could already b older, lighten up
or don't watch it but I'm guessing you need people to hear you birch.

Later

Each to their own, sonny jim.

I watched and cringed until the 1st break, hoping to catch the Blake Austin story but when they (and players) did queen's bohemian rhapsody with false laughter over the top that did me.

No more. It is at best a Gen Y and post Gen Y show - no real comedy and very little football discussion.

As many have said, it's a variety show with a footy theme, light entertainment. They are not about to change a successful format. Personally, I don't sit glued to the set, just have it on in the background to whet my appetite for the weekend. I rarely make it to the end of the show.
It is what it is.
If you want more in-depth football analysis, watch the Sunday show. It's 2 hours of mostly football. The Thursday night version is for the general public.

I actually think the Sunday Footy Show's format is pretty ordinary.

It goes for 2 hours, you virtually have to sit through Tim Gilbert and the Roast segment, and wait until your team's wrap up from either Friday or Saturday night.

They should get through all the games first, then have the roast segment, but mind you they would probably figure people would tune out once that happens.

The Sterlo show is pretty good previewing all the matches.

You are right, but occassionally they have a good footy story within the show - young hoppa and blake etc. But I find it impossible to watch the other rehashed crap.

I haven't checked the ratings, but is it really that successful?

Sterlo and NRL360 are ok.

It wouldn't be on the tv still if it wasn't rating well enough.

I miss the old boots n all/roast.

Say what you will about Voss, but at least he had a genuine passion for the game.

Trent Merrin's missus (Sally Fitzgibbons) is co-hosting WWOS this morning. Now there's a bloke who's punching above his weight in the lady department.

Yep - it's an old tv approach to keep viewers hanging on through all the junk just to see the best bits. Remember WWOS on a Saturday afternoon ? coming up ………

This is formula, unless there's a HUGE story about someone retiring, off-field dramas etc

Surprisingly quiet in here tonight.

Personally I think tonight's been great - opening 15 minutes solely dedicated to McKinnon, then a short bit of nonsense - then onto Small Talk and the Jamal interview. The pointless stuff like Molan Files and the self-indulgent trapeze thing are buried after 9:30. Hope they maintain a similar format - those in depth interviews like with Idris are fantastic.

Another great story on a player, this time Idris.
Well worth a watch if you didn't watch the show tonight

IMO the Idris story perhaps dragged on a touch too long. Other than that it was a good show. Other than the apparent Alex McKinnon funeral.

I thought that the Jamal Idris interview was great. The interviewer was great and should have replaced Erin Molan as panellist. The McKinnon talk at the beginning was good.

Kids Talk with Brohman (whatever its called) is good for the show.

Im a little sick of Beau Ryan's ''sketches''. Its the same week in week out. Id have it more infrequent to make it funnier. And whats the deal with the Fat-A-Cracky segment? What a bs concept of cracking the fats head. Just bring back the spinning-table and try crack it! Last year had the slippery slide thingo.
