My suggestion is GILBERT IS SHIT
Even TK would be better than Gilbert because GILBERT IS SHIT.
I used to enjoy TK's commentary when he called matches for Optus during 1996-2000. Loved it when NBN used to broadcast Optus' coverage for Newcastle Knights matches Ch9 didn't televise, and won an impersonation contest in primary school saying TK's iconic "O'Davis, O'Davis, O'DAAAAVIIIIIIIIIIS! It's TRY TIIIIIME!" and when he used to pronounce Adam Muir's surname as "MEEWWWR".
Nevertheless, Tim Tam Gilbert hits the pits and as much as ppl don't like TK here, I'd take his commentary any day of the week over Tim Tam. Tim Tam calling the 2014 try of the year involving Greg Inglis on ANZAC day is tantamount to when James Brayshaw was the commentator when Australia regained the Ashes two summers ago, and still remember his pip-squeaked, teenage-sounding voice of his yelling "THE URN RETURNS!". It still baffles me how Brayshaw got to replace Benaud (that's a discussion for the cricket forum)
I absolutely hated it when Tim Tam hosted the bastardised version of the Sunday Roast post-Vossy era. He really tried to stamp his imprimatur on the show, and stagnated the flow and improvisation Vossy allowed, only giving the guests their 20-30 second responses max. Tim Tam is single-handedly the reason why the Sunday Roast died a painful death (it took Ch9 programming 2 years to realise this before they eventually canned it from the Sunday Footy Show). The bottom line is there are people in this world who are born with the natural ability and skill to anchor/host a successful program that engages and connects with the viewing audience; Tim Tam isn't and will never be one of them.
