Matty Johns Big Weekend, which was on at 7.30pm is the kind of show The Footy Show should be. Mostly good analysis of the week's coming games with a little bit of fun and hi-jinks.

Problem is The "Footy" Show thinks it is a variety show, but has acts that are completely untalented and rarely ever funny.

The Matty Johns show has blokes on there that are naturally funny, especially Johns. Hence why it was a lot better when he was on there with Sterlo.

I agree with you.

However, The Footy Show will never take that direction whilst Fatty remains as host, Beau Ryan remains unfunny and Big Marn gets more of a role than just hosting the "Small Talk" segment.

I made reference to this in a post a long while back regarding the difference between Matty and Beau Ryan since Beau replaced Matty on TFS in 2009.

Basically, IIRC, I said something along the lines of yeah, Matt Johns isn't in the same category as Paul Hogan, but his best bits on TFS hit the mark and far outweighted Beau's and he was more consistent, whereas Beau's funny bits (especially Beau Knows pre-2012...far better than the stuff he now does) was interspersed with a lot of segments that fell flat and were flogged like a dead horse (e.g. DJ Yallah, SBW/Burgii/KRudd TV etc.).

although this opening bit of The Footy Show is live (as they made reference to Australia beating India in the cricket), the rest of the show has to be pre-recorded. Surely they haven't started the show at close to 10:30pm and made the audience stay until the show finishes. That'd be tough on making the audience stay until after midnight.

The Beau Ryan celebrity interviews are embarrassing.
These celebs must truly wonder why this guy is interviewing them.

I've always thought hypnotism is a scam but geez, that dragged on a long time.

I think it does affect some people, but not to the level they make out. Just dont wanna disappoint the crowd or are way too easily susceptible to following the crowd.

Beau was at least convincing.

Molan was faking it big time though.

Yeah it was all fake. Molan was hopeless. When Powers set up Grothe being the dog, he woke up too early and was ready for his part. Was obvious it was acting.
