Dude, he was one of our better players tonight.
If you couldn't see that, you are blind.

He put in his 100% effort, unlike 14 of 17 players out there tonight.....

He did nothing. He didn't make a mistake but he did not provide anything of note either.
Remember how much he is being paid.

If you put me in the side i would give 100% as well but i dont have anywhere near the talent to be out there neither does morts 100% effort is no good unless you have the talent to go with it

Funny that, considering we only started playing well and putting in when the last 10 minutes started  He was good tonight, made no errors, did nothing wrong, played his heart out and nearly created a couple of opportunities that were snuffed out by our lack of support-running.
Did you notice how many tackles he ducked under? Did you notice how many line-breaks he nearly set up? I certainly did, and we was right up there whenever a kick was made.

Of course, he wasn't great, but he was certainly one of our better players.
He is being paid a lot because he had a brilliant first year. How can you blame him for that? It's called second year syndrome, being low on confidence through sledging and being moved to a position that he would never adapt to.
;-)
Great work mate.

Surely you have seen last year's brilliance and, when he has been on song, his great touches this year?

I will quote Parra Pete here;

"Form is temporary. Class is permanent."

Talent doesn't disappear.

Isnt Timana Tahu on a back-loaded contract of about $400k a season for the next 2 years? Correct me if I am wrong, but if this is true (even $300k), now is the time for your tears.

There are 5-10 players at any club on $200k, big deal.

We are going to have to agree to disagree here, yes i saw him play last year as did most ppl on here and you would have to agree that most of that form was on the back of Hayne i truely do hope that i am wrong and he comes out and kills it next year.

I agree. His form last year was the temporary part. The way he sold ozzy for 250k was all class

Morts form and talent is just like the Parra Stadium ground announcer - only good when we're winning. Otherwise very annoying.

Pretty funny I'll admit.

Still, he debuted before our dream run (whilst we were still losing), and a lot of people last year actually gave him the accolade of sparking our first few wins; the first two games of the run were against the Storm and the Dogs, I think.
He was magnificent against both, and if I remember correctly was the spark for us winning those two games; of course after those two it was all Jarryd.

Still, there's a difference between individual brilliance and playing off the back of the team's form, and you could tell that some of his stuff last year was definitely individual brilliance. I can understand the criticisms for this year, I just hate it when people say someone is 'useless'; in my opinion, it completely destroys the sense of fans supporting their team and players through tough times.
Way I see it, we support Burt, Hindy, Hayne and all through their tough times, why don't we do that with Mortimer? Is it because of his name?

Up until now I've been willing to give Morts time but tonight was just so so so frustrating. He may be good with a decent half along side him but otherwise his useless. He can't even pass FFS and his our 5/8.
