With 10 teams next season in the NRLW, I'd love to know what the finals series structure will be. Do they retain the top 4? Or run with a top 5 or 6?
Abdo was saying with 10 teams it will be an 11 week comp so i am figuring it will be top 4.
Surely not and they make it a top 5 and 4 week final series
Even if top 6 it can be 4 weeks too
teams 1 and 2 the week off first week of finals
3 vs 6 and 4 vs 5 - 2 losers eliminated
2nd week
1 vs 2 - winner to GF and loser to week 4 Prelim Final
2 winners of 3 v 6 and 4 vs 5 winner to week 3 prelim final and loser eliminated
3rd week - prelim final
4th week - GF
So 13 week comp plus byes for SOO as they will have 2 games in 2023.
Be looking at late April pre-season start which is only 6 or so months away.
Not sure how the expanded NRLW Comp affects the state based Women's premiership comp - do they make these a reserve grade comp like NSW Cup and the QLD Cup comps.
No CBA yet for either the NRL and NRLW - Worse for NRLW Clubs and NRLW players in not knowing what the cap is and when the NRLW comp will start , how long it will go for and the squad numbers as all the players are off contract.
So clubs can't sign players and players can't sign contracts to know where they will be playing which is the case every season.
All the players are very much part time and have jobs and what not outside of footy so this also needs to be factored in for who they can sign for.
Not all employers are supportive of employees sporting ambitions one has to say
