The hypocrisy of the NRL

Did you get a response, he asks knowing the answer be no.

I had my backpack checked as i entered a ground recently & the guy who touched it had tomato sauce on his hand, presumably from a hastily consumed exorbitantly priced pie.

The subsequent matter got onto my sock & rendered it useless (the sauce that is)

I complained to NRL management but no response has been forthcoming

it is simply outrageous that the true issues that effect the fans are ignored.

i hope the game didn't detract from your efforts to suck the sauce out of your sock.

f*cking outrageous.

They supported the sacking of Carney for his drunken antics and observed the tragic outcome of Ryan Tandy from gambling, yet they are willing to accept sponsorship and advertisements from alcohol and gambling companies.

They make me sick with these double standards.

Reflects Australia more broadly doesn't it?

I don't watch a lot of other sports but none of the ones I have watched have betting agencies advertising during the broadcast shows like ch9 and fox do pre game, ht and during sport shows.

What does Carney pissing in his own mouth have to do with alcohol sponsorship? For all we f**king know he could've been sober. Stranger things have happened.

For the record I don't think the NRL should accept sponsorship from gambling or alcohol interests but until it's outlawed ala Winfield Cup... not much we can do. They're the ones offering the big bucks.

Holden, Telstra, Toyota, Harvey Norman, Coca Cola, X-Box, KFC say hi :D

@Surrogate your concern is misplaced.

Its bad enough the Sharks felt sacking Carney was appropriate as they correctly anticipated the faux outrage of a mob puffed up with their own self righteousness.

Every action should be judged on two principles:
1) Self-ownership (Each individual has the highest claim of responsibility for their own body/decisions etc)
2) Explicit harm to others.

Nothing else.

NRL can accept money from businesses that provide jobs and a product that some will abuse. Better than accepting money from Holden who survived for years by stealing from the productive in society. And Unions who misuse their member funds to pay for hookers, house renovations & most importantly prop a power structure built on crony partnerships with government.

Perhaps the NRL believes in the personal responsibility of adults for their own actions. But then I suppose they wouldn't have banned the shoulder charge if that was the case. Hypocrites they are.

Smoking, irresponsible drinking, gambling are a scourge on society. Why should an organisation who aspires to have a positive image lower their standards and be associated with this?

I'm all for personal choices one makes, but sometimes people are irresponsible.
Sounds like a debate about guns.

Simpler to just write "I don't like this so no-one else should either".

. . . The Melbourne Storm fan passes judgement on what is fair, just and hypocritical.
The cap and Greg's dad's boat say hi.

Surrogate, did those storm coffee mugs come as a series ?
Have you smashed the ones from the cheating years ?. Didn't think so.
