If anyone think the clubs don't organise their own travel or tell the NRL what they want are kidding themselves.
We have 25 million in Australia. When we were looking at Amazon and Apple and all those big players, they kept saying to me, why would we be interested in you when there’s 40 million people in California? No.This quote (which PVL has repeated in other media):
The thing is we haven't even really attempted to capture the 25 Million in Australia yet though.
That should be a major focus for our game in the next decade.
We've got no team west of Melbourne.No.
We can be certain that only a percentage of the population will take to Rugby league. Most Women won't follow sport at all, some men don't like sport, some don't have time and some appreciate a completely different skill set. Not to mention the present of other sports in which they're are already engaged with.
After over a hundred years of presents, the NRL are likely close to tapping out on those possible supporters in Australia.

There is no way the NRL is tapped out the Australian sports market yet.
No.

100 years of presents!?! That's a lot of presents...No.

About 4.5MAnd what is the population West of Melbourne?
RL is doing well at grass roots level in the western suburbs and also the outer south east suburbs of Melbourne. Both have easy access to AAMI for Storm games - it is not like travelling from Western Sydney to Moore Park. 30 - 60 minutes drive or PT. A team in the west is not needed. If there was to be a second team here in the long term future, the southeast (maybe Dandenong or Casey) would be the go. Compared to Melbourne’s west, it is twice the distance from the CBD and has twice the population. We've got no team west of Melbourne.

There is definitely something in this from a ‘diminishing returns’ perspective. Is the amount of time and money required to try and ‘max out Australia’ really going to provide bang for buck - the vast majority of people in Australia will already know what NRL is, and what it’s all about, and sure, having new teams in some areas might bring in some new fans, it’s not going to be a game changer. PVL said something recently about the Dolphins brining 17k new fans to the NRL - that’s hardly going to provide a huge leap in revenue. All that being said, expansion into wider areas of Australia and surrounding nations should still be on the radar, but the truth is, to really shift the dial and get a big win, the American market is the golden goose, so it’s worth a crack.No.

The new team = Adelaide City Santas100 years of presents!?! That's a lot of presents...
I think you meant presence
If the NRL can outdraw the Mexican Soccer team playing in the USA, that would be a pretty awesome result.Just for reference, the game below had 29k. If we've already sold 20k+ you would think there will be a small surge in sales the week of the game so I'd say we'll have something like this minimum but hopefully more.
Gee that's alot of blue seats, they need to advertise from now, not last minuteIf the NRL can outdraw the Mexican Soccer team playing in the USA, that would be a pretty awesome result.
I hope they are limiting sales to the lower bowl there, to give it a good atmosphere.
EDIT:The below blue dots show the currently available seats (I assume the upperbowl hasn't been opened up fully).
