The dead zone of American sports is mid(ish) June once the NBA finals finish through to early September when the NFL regular season and College Football starts. In between all they really have is regular season MLB and pre-season NFL.

The timezone in July is not ideal though and nor is the weather for actually playing games in the states at that time of year.
While not peak it is not that dead because aside from MLB, the Golf Majors attract large audiences, there is the US Open and lead up tournaments, NASCAR and Indycar run throughout that period, WWE has SummerSlam and surrounding period, and in general in tends to be a big period for fights in both UFC and boxing.

You also mention pre season NFL, where TV and live audiences rival most nation’s premium sports products.

The ball looks tiny in mailata's hand 😮
I know there was a paywalled article about the nrl hoping to get mailata involved in promotion, maybe this is the result?

Yakstorm any updates on sales bro?
Daily Mail is saying 25,000 now (Source: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/n...NRL-Las-Vegas-season-opener-rugby-league.html)

The Australian is saying sales have surpassed 25,000 (Source: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.th...ws-story/03c21fffa3e6023595c82d89dc0e91bd?amp)

From what I can see with the Ticketmaster website & sales reports, it's looking more like 28K allocated (going on the conservative side) though maybe the model is off or maybe the difference is freebies. Anyway I'm going to lean towards the printed numbers to be safe.

So going off the media numbers, between the 21K being announced by the SMH on Jan 22 and 25K being announced at the start of this week, the NRL is moving on average 267 tickets per day.

Assuming that doesn't accelerate, that would see us at around 32K of pre-sales by game day + walk ups.

The old USA 7s at Vegas would get over 10K walk ups for the event so 40K still isn't out of the realms of possibility.

That’s brilliant - a great introduction to the game, great work!

if I’m being ultra picky, I’d have liked it to build to a crescendo at the end with some Gladiator style ‘get ready for battle’ type cry….
Great stuff
