The Las Vegas Thread

Well its not going to happen so those Aussies are going to have to plan their bbqs at a different time.

Anyway, this is the Las Vegas thread.

It's always a fatuous argument. I mean are those people going to seriously say they cannot have a BBQ in the evening?

It was the same spurious argument about State of Origin having to be on a Wednesday night and not the weekend because they couldn't have a BBQ

Since they are going to Vegas, and this is a big past time in US football, maybe the NRL should host a tailgate party before the game in the car park for the attendees.

Was the grand final moved to night time because fans wanted it ?

what do polls of nrl fans say they want ?

just bc channel nine don’t know how to promote rugby league is a bad reason to do it

It's not as if no one is watching or attending

This is a premium event, as premium as it gets. It will always sell out at 7:30PM on a Sunday and rate its guts off. Why on Earth would channel 9 or the NRL want to change that and command less advertising money? So people can have a BBQ for lunch instead of dinner?

I'm all for more day games, especially in winter, but the GF and finals in general aren't the ones to be targeting.

A decent broadcaster could show it at 5 pm (twilight) and not worry about their news for one day and 60 minutes

By the same token the game could just let the broadcaster have the preferred slot for the biggest event of the year.

Personally I have a long list of other concessions I would prefer from the broadcaster before that one.

When are the big problems going to get solved! Are they going to use league goal posts or NFL posts? Poor Reyno will only have one goal post to aim at for his grubbers

The NRL plans to launch next year’s Las Vegas double-header in the United States in a fortnight, finalising plans to send players from South Sydney, Sydney Roosters, Manly and Brisbane to help promote the games to be played at Allegiant Stadium on March 2.

V’landys is with NRL chief executive Andrew Abdo as part of a series of meetings to build the game in the United States. The code is planning to hold a launch in Las Vegas from November 7-10, with clubs contacted to send their star players abroad to promote the game.

Just call it NRL World Series to US fans

The NRL should offer NRL clubs a salary cap exemption to sign 2 US players as part of a 40 man NRL squad with the NRL paying 75% of their wages for 2 years

Plus Salary Cap exemption to sign 2 RUWC players

Just sorted out my plans for Vegas, we will be looking to spend a week around the games. Clients of mine have got a box :) Only problem they are Manly fans but I think I can survive. They reckon the corporate stuff at the stadium is out of this world, not to mention the stadium itself. To say I'm a little excited would be an understatement :)

Now to sort our accomodation, anyone been to Vegas before and have any suggestions. I guess somewhere along the strip.

Yeah, you defo want to stay on the strip, it's a bit cheaper a few blocks back but then you need to catch a cab every where.

If i wasn't planning a big UK Europe trip next year, i would have headed over to Vegas for this, have good friends in Vegas so accommodation wouldn't have been a problem, weather in early March should be ok with the temps right down, last time i was in Vegas back in 2014, think it was late August, early September it was 105 c every day. Would have tied in Palm Springs and possibly San Fran also but Europe beckons so cannot justify the extra costs.

Thanks, checking some of the brand hotels on the strip. In saying that there is real good value for serviced apartments 2br-3br just couple of streets off the strip.
