Please say this out loud to PR

It really isn't that hard.

US are playing tests v a side from last years WC, They have about 800 players.

Even 200 extra players is 25% growth. That is how small the game is over there.

Of course the NRL wants $ coming its way, The flow on is if you are getting attention locally

Because any sponsors or local fans this game attracts will flow on to the local game.

Better player pool, better resources, Hell might even get players paid to play the game.

All things grow RL
If we're still going in 5 years ll be amazed, let alone if its had any impact at all on RL in USA.
NRL has no strategy at all for growing the game at the grassroots in America, this is about gambling revenue, fanciful to believe its anything else.

I Wonder, if all the Casinos in Vegas are advertising the double header, if they're not maybe they should and the NRL should put their foot down and do something about it. I know for a fact alot of people in California travel to the strip alot, which is 6 hours by car. I was in Vegas 8 years ago, had the time of my life. However during the day Vegas is crap, night time is like you're in a different world wow oh wow 👌

I have been getting deals into my email, I am sure they have gone to US addresses too. Particularly to anyone on Fox Sports mailing list.

Also players are going over next week, They would have things booked or no point sending them

What's with all the sudden panic over ticket sales and need for the NRL to suddenly get all the casinos promoting the game? We are sitting between 20K-25K sold with around 3 months to go. We moved over 2K in the last week alone, and have been averaging that since we went on sale (remember tickets only went on sale in September), so even if we just stick to the current trending, we'll get to around 50K pretty comfortably.

Let's see if the launch next week and the other things planned in January & February move the needle in anyway. If they don't, the NRL can start giving away tickets through other means closer to the event, it's not like there won't be thousands of people in Vegas around anyway (the city averages 600,000 visitors a week) who might be interested in checking out the new stadium and an event on a Saturday night.

For once, I agree with you…. This bit is right…. Talk of an ‘NRL combine’ etc is not really a serious concept for growing the game, in my opinion, it’s more of a publicity thing to increase awareness (and subsequent gambling) and also to give a bit of an illusion that it’s not just about the gambling revenue, when in reality, it’s all about earning more $$$ - but that’s no bad thing (though some people will argue the ethics of simply targeting gambling revenue).

A few puff pieces have come out with Quotes from PVL and adding to the player pool.

So there'd be stuff to go with that we haven't seen yet, Very few if any will actually make the NRL but if you can get the US League up to the standard of the 2nd tier UK or the French League.

Then you might get a some test players that certainly give those weaker European countries a decent game, and may make test footy rights worth something.

$1m in the US market is loose change but for International RL would be huge. Especially for those smaller sides

“Next week, the NRL will announce a partnership with another major US sport”

nfl nba would be good

plus close to 30 percent of all tickets sold are to locals. Tickets sales to date just about cover stadium rental of 1.2 million
