It's amazing that the NRL are going to Vegas! And promoting the hell out of it too! This is such a great time to be a Rugby league fan!!.. if you're full of negativity then you're not really a fan of the game. Perth red only seems to be interested in the game and expansion if it's to his door... and the other trolls, it's a blessing to have you here so we can really rub your nose in every bit of this..enjoy.

If you can’t be happy with how rugby league now it’s not a rugby league thing

I wish I was 20 again growing up in this era where the game is growing so much

I can’t work out if it’s people being jaded from the super league war or just actually hating the game

How can you love fumbleball and then the NFL?

The physical nature comment was pretty funny

The "link" with UFC and NFL etc is just corporate buzzwords.

It doesn't mean much to the NRL, but even then I have no real issue with that.

I have a huge issue with us promoting Union though.

Well, find a RL club somewhere else, surely that's not that hard?
Yep I have a problem promoting union too. I can't disagree there. However, I think the promotion directed at the NRL brand during this visit is a huge positive for RL and over the next 5 years it can really start to open the eyes of people that there are two versions of Rugby and ours has finally showed up at the party.

Also remember that RL and RU don't seem to have the same animosity in the US so selling a few tickets to Union players and fans and getting them watching and loving our game can be a positive moving forward.

If I was Union in the US, I would be loving this promotion.

As you have said, even if a local decided they liked League, they would have to seek out a Union club to either participate or watch a game in their area.

It's a double edged sword. As soon as we poked our head up in any real way in North America and started promoting ourselves we would also inevitably give them some promotion, the two games are inextricably linked in that way (Toronto Wolfpack probably helped Union in Toronto too). Many new markets RL goes into they have done most of the initial heavy lifting so it goes both ways.

Bottom line is, no, it's not ideal for the NRL to be working with a Union club.

I’ve actually got to applaud the blind loyalty and delusion the Victorians have for AFL.

Objectively the game is a complete mess and basically unwatchable but it’s so indoctrinated in them that it’s a great spectacle and has amazing athleticism that they genuinely believe it.

Google searches for 'nrl' in the USA for the past 12 months. Still not as high as it was during the year
