Domestic comp of France would be great but I think the goal is more to get NRL fans " viewers " and " gambler"
I think if it gets that kind of traction, it'll likely get a better Domestic scene by default, if that is noteworthy the NRL are likely to help..
Bloody exciting.

They both go together though. If you are getting a decent USA in test matches then it brings money in to the competiton. As well as gets interest for NRL

I don't propose to be an expert on US culture. I reckon we have a problem, not with the game, but with our jerseys, logos, merchandise. Americans love the traditionalism of their teams uniforms and logos. A lot of our merch is absolute amateur hour and tbh, a bit of a turn off. Australian league fans accept it because they are engaged with their team.

However, when you're trying to entice new fans you've got to seduce with the entire package.

Generally you are right.

I follow NHL most out of the US Leagues.

They have a side named after a kids movie and a couple of sides with suspect names in this day and age...

They are in no position to judge. Just get rid of the cheap Best and Less style Merch and it looks decent enough

I read they were set up in November of this year lol
The NRL probably gave them some free tickets to shut up.
They're park football. And although I like people growing the game.. they only seem to care about themselves. If they truly cared about the game, they wouldn't shit on it in it's most important hour.
Kinda like what you'd expect from Perth red but on a far greater scale.

The NBA and NHL are generally on the cutting edge of merchandising and uniform design and don't embrace traditionalism too much at all generally speaking. The NFL and MLB move merch based on the name and number on the back, not the design on the front.

It's irrelevant anyway as the average American is going to give about as many shits about the NRL's history and traditions as the average Australian does about American sport's history and traditions.

If the NRL are really worried about moving merch in the US, then they should explore having a single centralised kit supplier, engage popular brands about creating better casual and street wear ranges, force the clubs to introduce secondary logos, and fast track player numbers and names on jerseys while heavily pushing star players in their broadcast and promotional material. A loud minority here would piss and moan if they even discussed attempting any of that though.

We were in forbs too
For comparison, in an 80 minute game of rugby league, the average ball in play time is roughly 56 minutes. In an average 60 minute NFL game, there are only 18 minutes of football action. So fans will get almost three times the action for their $19 ticket.

I went on the ticket site and did a zoom around, looks to be steadily filling. Pretty good for 3 months out!
A big pump of advertising in the last few weeks and we're golden.
