There aren't any quotes saying "EMERGENCY MEETING" or "CRISIS " or any quotes relating to " rising costs " Thise are all Webster's words based off 'sources say' . The sources he does quote are very positive towards the games. It's yet another 'Vegas games CRISIS' story from Webster who has been death riding the Vegas games since they were first mentioned 3 years ago, his article's are aimed at like minded people like you so you can post "I told you so" on league forums with random references to AFLX

If they could sort out all these problems with thier half arsed effort in 1987 I'm pretty sure they shouldn't have any problems sorting them out in 2024
Of course the visa's will be sorted out, thats not the really the story though is it.

Its the lack of attention to detail, and low ticket sales.

Most of the issues would be the fact that Christmas/New Year sees a closure and puts things like this on hold

I wouldn't say a lack of detail, The article says at the time of the email Abdo and some players were over there.

Those players got there in time, it is then xmas and new year.

The sales look to be just the publics, Corporates are still to be added. 40k will still look good enough

So basically it's a "CRISIS" based off minor details that can be sorted out in a day ?

Is 20k tickets sold this far out from a game good or bad ? How many tickets need to be sold for the venture to be profitable?

Basically it says "slow news day in rugby league and writer is required to find a story for publication".

When you consider the majority of ticket sales will be in the week leading up to the game you'd have to think a crowd of 35 to 40k is realistic.

The current NRL admin have been very frugal with thier spending, I find it hard to belive they'd go jet setting off to Vegas if they weren't 110% sure they'll be coming out financially better off.

Webster is a union fan first

seeing nrl overtaking union in america would burn him

much like the fumblers are as well

neither union or afl have the game that Americans will take too

Wouldn't be hard to overtake either code in the USA.

Major League Rugby has average crowds of 1.1k and last years grand final was watched on TV by 260k people. Rugby Union is BOOMING in the USA ! Lol

That's correct Webster protested when the NRL decided to return serve after Union grabbed the young Rooster's back by suggesting they will look at Union ranks. Subsequently the Roosters grabbed a union player whose name has too many letters for me.
It would be akin to getting Peter Fizzberg to become the League writer for the SMH.

Peter Fitzsimons is far more positive towards league than Webster. I almost chocked on my weetbix when Fitzy wrote a positive article about the League World Cup, writing what an incredible achievement it was for a country with such a small population to produce enough talent to make the final.

In contrast Webster was writing what a joke the League World Cup was that a team with only 2 home grown players and the rest NZ'ers and Aussies was able to make the final.

There is no way only 1,000 tickets have moved since the PR activation in December. There has been way too much movement in Stadium availability, ticket allocation numbers, etc. Maybe the NRL overstated numbers back in December or the majority of the movement has been other allocations, but there has definitely been more movement.

Anyway, regardless, in the scheme of things it's only how many tickets have been sold come March 2nd that matters, not what numbers may or might not be now. A crowd less than 30K come March would pretty much be the undoing of PVL + Abdo's leadership with one (or both) most likely losing their role off the back of it. I imagine they would be aware of that risk as well, so I'd expect them to have a few cards to play, if again everything is as bad as Webster reports.
Yeah it can’t be true because yakstorm doesn’t want it to be

You realise you can go to ticketmaster and see what areas are for sale?
No, he doesn't realise that, English isn't his first language.

Ever noticed that @footyfan4life comments are never longer than 5 words and contain multiple spelling and grammatical errors?

He lives in a fantasy world where Rugby Union is the world's dominant code :D :D :D

Ahh yes the whole Wallabies fan base there
