Corp sales are way more than that per ticket and they’ve sold plenty (approx 185 pp)
Even the NRL haven't claimed this will be a money making exercise in Year 1. And with all the logistics, venue hire, marketing, accommodation etc. you couldn't expect it to be.

It's more a long term play to attract gambling monies in the future.

the marketing firm they used organised a coaching clinic with a RU club...

So getting wrong information here is another to add
TBH this is worse, any time you organise anything that involves international travel one of the first things you ensure is that all relevant personnel are going to have the required visas, because you’re dealing with govt bureaucracy (and a notoriously inflexible arm of it), and you know if you don’t get it right it can’t be circumvented or fixed quickly. Any competent business knows this.

The article today about it says most are fine with the ESTA visa. So most likely is no issue especially as the PR tour was sorted quickly

120 people across different locations is no easy logistical feat.

Anyone without a criminal conviction would be fine with an ESTA. It’s the ones who have them that are the issue. If you have a conviction an ESTA application will be automatically rejected (it’s an automated process) and the visas have to be manually approved by immigration officials after doing background checks etc. which all takes time.

a lot of people actually lie on their ESTA applications and get away with it as it really isn’t checked in 99% of cases. However that would be highly inadvisable for these guys as they’re highly visible and US immigration are probably going to be checking some of them as a result.

Yes, gambling money and maybe a bit of $$ from Fox Sports USA. It could be a bit of short term pain for long term gain, we'll know for sure in 5 years.

In regards to the crowd, I'd think year 2 with cross promotion from the UFC fighting on the same weekend will be the best chance of a big crowd. If you consider Vegas Rugby 7s gets crowds of 15k and the Raiders are one of the worst attended NFL teams, anything over 30k is a win.

It’ll be well over 40k

Potentially sold out

Boxing and MMA get in far worse humans every month (Lodge is the only one who comes close....well JDB too but ya know). This CRISIS is a storm in a teacup

They do. But it takes a while to sort. If they’ve already applied and have good immigration professionals handling it they’ll be fine. If they’re starting this week I don’t like their chances of getting it done in time.

Nope the UFC is hugely multinational. Almost no US champs atm
What that does mean is that many of them wouldn’t be assuming they could use ESTAs to begin with as only citizens of a few trusted countries are eligible for those. The Russians and Brazilians would know they have to jump though a few hoops to get their visas from the start.
