The Las Vegas Thread

Accoring to an article in today's Sunday Telegraph, ticket sales for the 2025 event reached 28,000 as of Saturday 21 September 2024. According to the same article, for this year's event, it took until January 2024 for ticket sales to reach that number.

I can't find it online to provide a link, but I read it in a hard copy of the paper over breakfast at my local cafe.

I created a model last year to keep an eye on ticket sales. Will give an update when it's clearer which tickets are being held back from sale for travel packages, etc.

I got a stadium breakdown of roughly:
Level 1 = 27,000
Level 2 = 8,000
Level 3 = 13,500
Level 4 = 10,500

Corporates = 6,000

Very basic estimate - based off level 2 actually being sold to this level, I'd say we're at 20k-30k Sold already. Took until the week of the event last year to shift level 2 in any real numbers.

Assuming the 28,000 sold includes Corporates. Sales would line up somewhere around this:

Level 1 - 17,000/27,000
Level 2 - 7,500/8,000
Level 3 - 1,500/13,500
Level 4 - 0/10,500

Corporates - 2,000/6,000 (est.)

Most important to sell over the next 3 months is the Level 1 seats in the camera arc. My thinking being, you want Australian, NZ and UK fans sitting here as they are more likely to arrive and stick around for all 4 games. You can then sell the level 3 (and maybe level 4) to US based fans for the lower price point and not have to worry about no shows and early leavers effecting the image of the event. I'd say on track for 50k+ at the moment.

Comparison to December 1st 2023 for last years event (went on sale in September, so will see over the next 3 months if sales actually are far ahead or just have been shifted earlier due to earlier release date):

Seating map for Allegiant Stadium (blue indicates seats available). Encouragingly an additional 12 bays have been opened up on the top level in the past 48 hours, and already some solid sales have been made in some of them.

Excluding the middle 10 bays in the lower bowl, which were put on hold for travellers (so unsure how many have been moved), breakdown of sales is as follows:

Lower Bowl: 13,200
Middle Tier: 2,600
Top Tier: 2,200

If you include those middle 10 bays, it puts the lower bowl around the 19,000 mark. Best estimates we are somewhere between 18,000 - 23,500 for sales so far.

All Loge boxes are sold out on both sides of the ground - representing a pax ~400 - area highlighted in blue below:

12 Pax (8 seats) private suites also sold out. The suites in the above photo (above and below the Loge boxes) are mostly all 18+ Pax suites (12 seats), unsure on sales of these.

So how`s it tracking compared to last year and are you still predicting 50k plus.

Still quite a few unknowns to say anything with confidence. But the fact we're still seeing some level of sales putting us ahead of 2024 is a good sign.

I would guess around 28.3-29k sold now, 28k was reached late Jan for the game this year (2024). In the month leading up to the 2024 game there were around 15k tickets sold, presumably to locals. So will depend on the local marketing they can produce over there this time and how many of the current sales include locals who have bought tickets already.

35k Presold by January 31st would be a good mark to hit if we're gonna get 50k+
I would estimate we're looking at 100-300 sales per week at the moment, hard to tell with new sections coming onto sale. 100 sales p/w gets us to 30k Presold by Jan 31st, 300 sales p/w gets us to 33.4k.

Will get a clearer picture if we're on track over the next couple of months as more sections sell out and more data comes in to estimate sales per week.

The NRL may also have better connections and understanding of the local market this year, if they have and can translate that into sales, we could blow past all estimates and head to a sellout.

Thanks for taking the time to do that.

Given the stadium hire is around 1 million that’s almost half the rent paid right there
Cost estimates I've seen have Las Vegas at around $6-8 million per year. Based off full tricket prices being charged - each part of the stadium sold out provides revenue of approximately:

Level 1 - $7 million
Level 2 - $390K
Level 3 - $1.8 million
Level 4 - $400k

Corporates - $7.8 million (Estimated average cost per seat set at $1300, could be higher, could be lower)

Total = $17.39 million rev with full stadium at full price.

Wouldn't fully surprise me if they get pretty close to breaking even or even making a profit this year.

Flights are fully covered by Fiji airways which i suspect the nrl has included in the cost (what’s business class to America return ? 4K per person)

Don’t forget they are also getting money from Las Vegas as well to bring the event there

If they sell out the stadium then it should be a very large profit ? (10 million or so )
