The NRL is a quality product, even if it was Tigers v Titans
Agree wholeheartedly but the only issue I see was that if the shoe was on the other foot and the NFL were sending two teams over here for a game and one hadn`t won a comp in 30 years and the other had never even won one I`d straight away be thinking, what are we getting, the dregs, these teams can`t be very good. That wouldn`t help with marketing for anyone who does a bit of research before buying tickets.

I’m not sure. It’s not often you get a chance to see an NFL game so I reckon even the worst teams would sell out.

To be fair, the first NFL London game had teams that hadn't won for 17 years and 34 years, and it still sold 81,000 tickets. The 2nd London game had 2 teams that had never won a superbowl, and it sold 83,000.

They brought a freaking preseason game back in 99 where the starters play one drive then never see the field again. And had the gall to make Sterling in the footy show say that the game meant something when it meant absolutely nothing. Chargers vs broncos.

Difference is of course, they`re (the NFL) coming to England or here hypothetically with a very high level of recognition, we are going over there with next to zero recognition with two teams that who are perennial under-performers.

If the the trajectory of the current market penetration is maintained It’s just a matter of time before Anthony Laffranchi is a household name in the US (rivalling ET in China). Apparently the Yanks are going nuts over the Knights Henny Penny jerseys and the Panthers Dahdah Uniforms jerseys .

Anyone seen all the celebrities in the crowds for the Olympics? Snoop Dogg, Lady Gaga, Tom Cruise ... etc It's rumoured these stars are paid by the IOC for appearance in return for tweets, tik toks etc.

Any one think this could work for the Vegas games ? Instead of wasting money on Times Squares billboards, spend that money on an appearance and some social media posts from someone with a decent following.

Does the world’s biggest sporting event really need paid celebrity cred? Rugbah League, I mean not that Olympic thingy that’s going on.

I bet if the AFLOL were doing this you would be gushing with praise at how pro active they are .
How they come up with brilliant ideas that The NRL never think of .
How we are so far behind them in everything.

I detest celebrities but they do have a huge following with people so it’s not a bad idea at all .

They don't need celebrities, they need that dick tom Brady. He has access to the type of people the nrl want looking at their product.

Well with zero recognition do you think most of us will know if youre sending us a premier matchup vs an also rans matchup? Someone joked that US fans might thing its the All Blacks, thats not too far fetched to think.

As someone who is familiar with those teams, will I be watching them at 700 pm on my couch? You betcha. How often do I get to watch rugby league on primetime tv? They could have west tigers v west tigers and Id watch.

@emesssea "Well with zero recognition do you think most of us will know if youre sending us a premier matchup vs an also rans matchup?"

I think I said in an earlier post for anyone tempted to go who might do a bit of research before hand and see that these two teams hadn`t exactly set the world on fire over the last few decades.

"Someone joked that US fans might thing its the All Blacks, thats not too far fetched to think."

Saw that post and thought the same thing. All-Blacks or not, article in yesterday`s paper saying that 32% of tickets sold far had been bought by Kiwis. Cameron George Warriors` CEO said Kiwis were scrambling to find ways of getting there, a charter flight direct to LV sold out in 17 minutes, George also said they are expecting a large roll up pf Kiwi ex-pats living in the U.S, and they were determined to help fill the venue.

"As someone who is familiar with those teams, will I be watching them at 700 pm on my couch? You betcha. How often do I get to watch rugby league on primetime tv? They could have west tigers v west tigers and Id watch"

Good on you. By coincidence I was thinking of your user name the other day and how I hadn`t seen it for a while, it always intrigued me, what exactly does it mean ?
