Well now you do all it took was to read about it once......I'm one. I didn't.
Never even heard of the CFL.
Still don't know what it is or how it differs from NFL.Well now you do all it took was to read about it once......
I know it and you do.......all NFL fans do
Seems I overestimated the intelligence of AustraliansSo people who are already fans know the difference? That doesn't help the point you think you were making.
Far more important than any of the crap posted over the last few pages is the quality of the match on gameday.
We want fit teams playing attacking football. No racist comments on field. And a referee who doesn't try and make the game about them.
So new NRL refs then?
We did that. His name is Ashley Klein.Bring over an English one.
f**k youWe did that. His name is Ashley Klein.
The reality is that 95% of the crowd and TV audience is existing NRL fans, BUT it did shit me how little attempt there was to appeal, and explain, to new viewers in the TV broadcast.Far more important than any of the crap posted over the last few pages is the quality of the match on gameday.

I tend to agree, and it seems the NRL have this season, as they have clearly pivoted to how much of a bang this gives the season start in Australia.Rugby League will never ever make a decent dent in the American sporting scene. Not in a country already saturated with NFL, NBA, Baseball and Hockey..
By all means keep coming to Vegas for Rd1 and bring in a couple English teams (or Catalan) etc. It’s a great concept. I hope to go one day (so I can infiltrate Area 51 lol) The Missus would love a few days in Vegas.
But don’t ever think rugby league (or the other code for that matter) will ever be even semi-big in the USofA!!
I can see how my post was slightly unclear. It was a response to people searching for rugby America and not getting info on the NRL. My point was that if you search Rugby and then any of the other words you do get info on league, and that is what people are likely to search for if they spend 2 hours watching the game.So you agree that the names should be recognisable, memorable and searchable (so, the need to be unique)
Just not the brand of the sport itself…..?
and you think it is better that people should go searching based on club names?
That's not remotely close to what I said at all. The people that aren't interested enough to google and find out there aren't two types of Rugby are probably not interested in either code and maybe not sport at all.“If you are confused about our confusing brand, f**k you we don’t even want you”
I think the problem in the debate is that you lot cant get your head out of your own ass and imagine it from someone who has NEVER seen a second of the game.
“Ohhh, nah we dont want them. They arent real fans”
