In the demo being played at the IGN event in Darlinghurst on Wednesday night I saw Ellie run straight into gun fire from Joel with no reaction.

If that is in the full game it'll be pretty atmosphere breaking.

Reviews have got me pumped for this game, hopefully it breaks street date some time this week

Thats what Gamespot's reviewed nit picked about the game, I guess for some people it can be a big dealbreaker.

Gamespot are as picky as possible when it comes to Playstation exclusives though, they really are - dunno why. I can never get over how they gave, I think it was War for Cybertron (multi-platform game) a low score but later admitted that it was based on the single-player only, yet in the review they said otherwise. Terrible website.

Picked it up today.... Will let you know my thoughts when I've played it for a bit....

I do love though I've put the game in and already downloading a game update.

I hate clickers...

They really punish you for any little mistake you make especially when there is more then one of them. I really hate using my guns in this game prefer to use modified melee weapons, molotovs and the shiv only really use my guns against clickers. With the craft and scavenging system in this game I found myself going and exploring as much as possible to find bullets, blades or alcohol.

I gotta say the AI of your mates in the game really is immersion killing.

For mine Bioshock Infinite is still game of the year.

Such a quiet thread for supposed game of the year?

I really loved the opening, probably the most impactful opening I've experienced in any game - ever.

But I'm just not enjoying the game otherwise, can't get into it. Has a somewhat controversial ending (I ended up watching youtube play through) but I liked it tbh.

I'm up to the end section haven't beaten it yet....

If 'Winter' is not the best sequence in a game ever, I don't know what is.

f**k me.... game finished.

GOTY without a shadow of a doubt

Yea I finished yesterday and it is really an amazing game and deserves every accolade it has received. I really enjoyed the ending especially within the context of the narrative which is imo the most well told and immersive story of this gaming generation. Be interesting if this does get game of the year considering another Sony exclusive in Journey won it last year, would be a strong selling point for Sonys first party studios up against Microsoft.

Some tough competition for GOTY this year - The Last of Us, Bioshock Infinite, Watch Dogs and GTA 5.

I loved BS Infinite ... but I think I prefer TLOU - it's an amazing experience so far but I haven't finished it yet. Watch Dogs and GTA 5 look amazing too though so it's going to be interesting.
